If you happen to be a tattoo artist, brace yourself, because you may be working with this design a fair amount over the coming years. Naughty Dog has uploaded high-resolution artwork of Ellie's tattoo from The Last of Us: Part II, which has been designed by Los Angeles-based artist Natalie Hall. It's essentially a butterfly perched upon some fern leaves.
The developer has also revealed some high-res artwork of the now 19-year-old protagonist, who's sporting a more rugged look these days. Her chopped locks and ripped jeans give her a much harder edge than the more sprightly character that we encountered in the first game, but this should all play into the title's darker theme.
What do you think of Ellie's ink? How do you think that the character is going to develop in this brand new game? Mark your skin in the comments section below.

I think she looks like a boy.. I dont care how she looks i Just dont want to have the same situations like in the first game ( the David part when they got attacked by multiple clickers and a bloater)
@Sanquine She's living in the apocalypse, man. She's not going to look like Emma Watson.
@get2sammyb I ain't saying that but it seems that drukemann wants to make her look like a butch ( manly lesbian, well she is one) . Tess on the other hand looked feminine
@Neolit Could be?
@get2sammyb
She's not going to look like Ellen Page either >:3
@Xaessya I'm honestly surprised she hasn't already put some smug comment up claiming they used her likeness to boost sales or something. She acts like she's the only brunette lesbian in this world with a potty mouth.
This looks like a moth to me.
I think she looks awesome! Love her tom boyish look.
"....should all play into the titles darker theme" it's not like part one were all hugs and butterflies either...
Oh boy I'm looking forward to this title. After finishing the last of us I kind of felt a bit sad for the people who never get to experience it 'cause they "don't play video games". I'm not saying that the last of us had the best gameplay or story or characters or whatever (even though especially the characters were kind of brilliant) but it all came together to create a tremendous experience I wouldn't want to be without in my life. I'm glad I play video games.
@ZurapiiYohane64 "I think tattoos are for people who are creative, tough, tall, or have great personalities!"
If that's the case, way too many people have them! Haha!
I'm a fan of the series but there's certain cutoff points. I'd never get a tattoo but if I did, it wouldn't be one from a video game I like.
They paid someone to draw that Tatoo? I could draw that. I only have one tatoo and I regret that one (was very drunk) nothing against tatoo's just that mine sux.
Tattoo's are a good way to express yourself. Some of the body art is amazing to look at. But for every great tattoo there are some truly awful ones. Not just the fault of the person who requested them but the artists who inked them. If you find a trusted well researched artists then its good to have them either for your personally or to show off to other people.
@xmeadx the artist should not have inked you if you were drunk.
@fishwilson oh boy well I have some news for you!
