Today's unexpected PlayStation 4 firmware update may still be vague, but it's bringing "quality" to the system's performance – rather than the usual "stability". Weighing in at 312.1MB and mandatory if you want to play online, v4.05 is available now. It's unclear at the time of typing what improvements it actually brings, but hopefully it cleans up some of the drift issues that people have been having with PlayStation VR.
Remember, you will need to install this before playing online, so if you've got a big gaming session planned, maybe pop your PS4 on now and get it downloading. Alternatively, you can leave the console in Rest Mode and allow it to do the work for you. You'll find more information on that through here.

hey improvements and and quality updates are always welcome in my book
I've been experiencing the drift with the vr but only noticed it in cinema mode. Also when I'm using the vr the menus become quite slow sometimes hopefully this is fixed. What I'm hoping most out of the update is YouTube vr support. There's so much content on there for vr. On a random note aswell I would love them to do vr game trailers in the store with a vr option to view them in their true format
I just hope my PS4 is stable when Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out, so I'll have somewhere to keep the horses
(bad-dum-tsch)
Will it make my system quieter? Probably not
It's probably because the PS4 was hacked and shown in China running Linux over the weekend so that's probably why.
Ive been having drift issues for some reason lately

@Neolit Basically. In Cinema mode, the virtual screen slowly creeps to the left, so you must turn your head to follow it or, more likely, hold the Options button to re-center it. Then there's another kind of drift, occurring in VR games, where a similar thing happens but it can't be fixed by holding Options. But I've found that one can be fixed by moving closer to the camera.
Not sure if its a coincidence but after the update my PS4's slower whenever I tried to message someone. It takes quite a while to load before I can even type my message.
