Much like the first Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2 will feature "seamless" online functionality, allowing you to connect with other players while you roam around doing story missions. You'll be able to form co-op groups with friendly hackers, take part in invasions, and even hunt down players who have been causing a bit too much trouble. On the flip side, strangers can invade your game, and hunt you down if you're the one causing chaos. What's more, all of the progress that you make while playing online will carry over to the single player campaign.
It all sounds pretty cool, but what if you're not up for socialising? The title's Gamescom trailer reiterates that you won't have to take part in any multiplayer activities if you don't want to - it's all entirely optional.
Will you be hacking your friends later this year? Take someone offline in the comments section below.

This is my second most anticipated title of Christmas 2016, after Mafia III of course. I will probably stick with solo play as i am not really interested in most multiplayer games. It's ahead of Tomb Raider in third and then Steep in fourth place.
If it's anything like the multiplayer in the original Watch Dogs I'll be turning it off. And if Watch Dogs 2 is anything like the original Watch Dogs then I'll be playing something else.
There original multiplayer was so annoying. Spend ten minutes trying to get to a tower only for someone to invade and then sit there
Loved the first game, looking forward to this one. Will give the multiplayer ago but like the original I'll probably get fed up with it and go solo.
I remember the time I was invaded in the first game. I spotted the dude as he was trying to hack me and gave him a legger. He almost got away but I managed to peel his cap back Ice-T style as he was trying to start a car up. It was probably the most fun I had on the game.
I do not normally click on videos but the first time I do and its tagged as private lesson learned.
Only buying two more games this year apart from flash sales. Watch Dogs 2 and Battlefield 1. Loved the first watch dogs put a lot more time into it than I did GTA V. Much love to Ubisoft
can't wait for this friggin game. I really liked the first one so, hell yeah
I wasn't big fan of the first Watch Dogs. I did however like the multiplayer part which you had to hack another player gameplay. Thought that was quite fun, especially when the other player gets desperate and starts shooting civilian NPCs because he couldn't find me.
Better be something to encourage players to actually move around and stuff, searching bushes for a player for 3 minutes got dull fast.
