Following its Push Square Game of the Show award last year, Horizon: Zero Dawn was always likely to be one of Sony's big E3 2016 highlights – and it looks like the platform holder's getting the hype flowing a little earlier this year. Guerrilla Games tweeted out a photograph of downtown Los Angeles today, which has been decorated with a giant Thunderjaw.
The slogan on the banner reads "Earth Is Ours No More", as one of the title's tribes attempts to take down the robo-dino. There have been rumours lately that the release will be pushed into 2017, but we honestly believe that with a property this promising, the Dutch developer should take its time. There's absolutely enormous potential here.

DAY 1, i must get it
@PeachSpike If you don't like the "hype" then fine but stop trying to ruin it for people who actually want to be excited about upcoming games again.
Also these terrible business practices you mention exist very much on PC too, the grass isn't always greener.
Can I have C64 Short Circuit remake instead? I'm looking forward to finding out how much of an 'RPG' this turns out to be... hmm
@PeachSpike It was a surprise reveal - It wasn't a main game with lots of posters etc. It wasn't mentioned before E3!! So explain how it was hyped!! The reason it got a lot of attention was because f the E3 reveal and how good it looked at that - its barely had a mention since!!!
Robot Dinosaurs this game sells itself! Sony save that marketing budget for something else ☺
Sony, please change the name of this game. Literally anything else is a more appealing name than "Horizon: Zero Dawn". That name sounds almost like a parody of a triple A game more than an actual game.
@PeachSpike
Excellent choice mate. Might I suggest this to go with your new lifestyle? I've heard their forums are just great!
All bad jokes aside, I do get where you're coming from. Sony's first party efforts pretty much always get (huge) delays and paying Sony so I can host online games seems odd. But in the end there's nothing like the comfort and accesibility of the console; you always hear PC elitist talking bout how easy PC gaming has gotten the last few years, but what they actually mean to say is that it's less cr*ppy in 2016 than it was in the past
@PeachSpike What are you even talking about? We've seen a total of, like, 15 minutes of gameplay. It's one of the biggest PS4 games in development. Of course they're going to hype it up.
Also, please do switch to PC, it's not like there are any updates to deal with there.
And finally, please stop swearing.
@Grawlog Both consoles and PC bring so many good things to gaming, of course there's downsides too because it's the nature of a huge industry but there was a time when I used to dig into a digital trench and start rows with other people because we had different platform allegiances but I got older and wiser with that. Last year's E3 taught me that it's OK to get excited about games again and not always look at these things with a hugely cynical eye, yes companies will do some questionable things certainly but at the end of the day it always comes back to one question"is the game any good"?
@PeachSpike But what does any of this have to do with Horizon: Zero Dawn? You've gone wildly off topic here.
Thanks for the warm milk, though. Delicious.
@PeachSpike Does'nt hyping the industry is what E3 for? What else you expecting for a trade show? Like a few Let's Play sessions of released games?
Ban this fool
Outside of the next Mass Effect this is my second most wanted game. I can't wait!
Soooooooooo ROBOT DINOSAURS I can kill with a bow and arrow.... I hope this game is appropriate for a 3 year old because my son is going to go nuts if he sees this.
Is that Grimlock?
@WanderingBullet lol .... tie this into Transformers/Rescue Bots and I'd literally have to pull my son away screaming.
Ubisoft said only they have the ability to make great open world games. When I look at how awesome Horizon looks I just laugh at that statement.
Easily the PS4 game I'm the most hyped about. Just hope Guerilla ups its story-telling game.
@PeachSpike
Some facts;
This is a playstation gaming site.
Everyone but you wants to know more on this game.
I'm glad your PS4 crashed.
@PeachSpike Dude I was in the beta for the update and had no issues back then
Anyway back to the topic this game is one of my most anticipated games of this yea it looks so good and its also very original
I smell a forum troll, best to simply ignore them.
I'm so hyped for this game, I'm torn about hoping it releases this year, and them taking extra time on it.
@NomNom I know what you mean regarding the rumoured delay. I guess we will find out at E3 but my money is on it coming out before Christmas. If not, never mind - means Guerilla has more time to work on it
Very excited to learn more about Horizon. It has huge potential.
What if new gameplay clips shows that we can climb those robot dinosaurs and attack them like in SotC or Dragon's Dogma?!
@PeachSpike I think we're all doing a pretty fine job of hyping ourselves up, thanks. Call me crazy but it seems to be because we like the look of the game and want to see more. Nuts, isn't it? Guerilla have clearly hit upon a new IP that has so much potential and has captured people's imaginations- and that's fine with me; it's why I love gaming so much. Bring on E3!
Horizon looks proper awesome I have to say. Not sure if it will get a delay but I am sure it will be featured heavily at E3, and why not? Are you not entertained?
It'll most probably get delayed, but I am really looking forward to it. Looks awesome.
What a sad fool this guy is.
Anyway no doubt we'll see new gameplay or trailer, I wonder how you'll be able to travel the land, can't just be walking surely? Maybe a robo horse with rocket propelled hoofs
@adf86 Or maybe you'll find an "ancient" hover bike or something that you can then work to repair?
I'd totally be down for a robo horse, though!
The last robo horse I recalled seeing was this:
@PeachSpike thank goodness you won't be part of ps4 or Xbox community. This is superb news! Happy gamers rejoice!!
Really excited for this game, more than any other future release.
Long as they take their time and don't rush it, I'll be well up for it, Sony has seriously been delivering the first party goods as of late.
@Grawlog That's why i almost never buy a bethesda game unless it's a elder scrolls game.
As i see above that is my reason for not gaming on PC... You have some elitist kid who wants to measure it's digital d*ck by downplaying console games. You know total biscuit ( yes, i know hé has cancer but that doesnt change his opinion or why i disagree with it) hé hates console gaming and it's exclusives. The fun thing is i loved xcom enemy unknown but the sequal is a Pc exclusive. I don't hear anything about that. ( by the Pc community)
So far, the games I have truly been excited for in the past have lived up to their hype: Bloodborne (and DLC), The Witcher 3 (and DLCs), Uncharted 4. No Mans Sky and Horizon: ZD and next up. crosses fingers and toes
this game is going to be so friggin good
I'm beginning to regret suggesting a robo horse now because it'll probably won't be as fun as that lol
