Hnnngh. Dark Souls III is out imminently in Japan, but we have to wait until we can play From Software's latest and greatest. And this launch trailer won't ease your pain, as it spotlights everything that's great about the series: the archaic language (seriously, where else do you hear the word 'accursed' these days?), the elaborate architecture, and the grotesque enemy designs.
Remember, if you're in the UK and fancy winning a PlayStation 4 and a copy of the game, Sony's teamed up with Bandai Namco to launch a hot wings competition in Meat Liquor restaurants across Britain. Is that something that you're planning to partake in? How else do you intend to pad the time before 12th April? Kindle the fire in the comments section below.

GIANT ENEMY CRAB.
That's called a proper trailer, fantastic. Now I have to go and finish DS II.
I can foretell exactly how every single creature in the trailer is going to kill me.
Also, in the scene with the skeletons on the bridge, my first thought was: " great, how am i going back now?"
This game looks epic! It's a shame I'm not skill-worthy enough to play it. :/
I am so enthralled by the Souls universe ... To bad I don't have the skills to play them for very long though! Still, a developer who deserves to be supported!
This is going to be sooooo much fun. Not long to go now.
Oh I am so ready for this been playing Dark Souls 2 SOTFS which has quite literally beat the Bloodborne gun-ho playstyle out of me. Well almost I love a cheeky little attack when I should wait for the enimies first strike.
I'd also like to add that while the soul series is hard there are systems and incredible game design that underpins and offsets that difficulty. Its not like playing a normal game on hard mode.
If you've never played one you really should.
@MDHegs @WanderingBullet Have ye tried co-opting through the game? Like summoning help at the start of areas rather than only at bosses? You should regularly find someone who knows what they're doing and will help you through the area along with guiding you to secrets and loot. Plenty of people play the game like that
@Hego
You know ... I haven't!! I will give it a try!! I absolutely love everything about Souls games, except my ability!!
@MDHegs Even just try asking for a co-op partner here when the thread gets set up, I'm sure people will help I'll even give a hand when I can although I'm not promising my presence will help at all
@Hego I didn't know you could do that. I got Demon Souls and borrowed the first Dark Souls from a friend but they were too tough for me. Haven't bought or tried both Dark Souls II or Bloodborne, though.
Wasn't too interested in this, although I really enjoyed Bloodborne I didn't like DS2 much and never played the earlier ones.
But I'm really loving Salt & Sanctuary at the moment so I reckon I'll be getting DS3 off the back of that.
Won't make the wait easier, nor make the game easier.
@WanderingBullet Basically there's a mechanic in the game where you can summon help in the form of another players (up to 2), they will stay in your game until either you defeat a boss (they will then get kicked out of your game, but you can simply move to the next area to summon again) or they are killed. Think for Dark Souls you need to be human (as opposed to undead) to summon
@kyleforrester87 Many people would argue that DS2 wasn't a proper souls game, it was lacking the certain magic that Miyazaki (the creator of DS1 and Bloodborne) brings when he's designing a game. He wasn't directly involved in DS2 like he was in DS and BB. So basically because he's directly involved in this, it's likely to be a lot better than DS2, plus with some of the new mechanics in the game it's supposedly possible to play a la Bloodborne if you wished
@Hego yeah I heard that actually. I'm not sure what I didn't like about DS2. In general I didn't mind the difficulty but I didn't like becoming an undead version of myself when I died. I suppose DS3 retains this element though. And I gotta say I enjoyed being able to go on the offensive a little more in Bloodborne so knowing you can play DS3 a little more like that is sweet.
@Hego That's pretty neat. Those players that you can summon, are they random players or is it possible to get people from your friends list to help?
@WanderingBullet Ya you can do it so that a friend can get summoned instead of a random person
@Hego Cool, that's good to know. Thanks for info.
