It's often said that fans of the Dark Souls series are masochists, but going 18 rounds with Ornstein is one thing – and eating 20 of Meat Liquor's hot wings is another. Sony and Bandai Namco have teamed up with the Brit gourmet food establishment to giveaway exclusive Dark Souls III 'I Survived' shirts to all those who can complete the test. Those that finish with the fastest time at each participating restaurant will also receive a PlayStation 4 console and a copy of the game's collector's edition, while the quickest chomper in the country will receive a 40cm Lord of Cinder figurine.
Think you can pull it off? Well, here's a choice excerpt from the press release: "Those brave enough to take on the challenge will feel the heat, as a portion of the 20 wings are smothered in a quarter of a litre of chilli sauce; Meat Liquor's darkest chilli sauce specially created for this challenge. The chef preparing the wings for hardy challengers is required to wear protective gloves, a mask, and goggles to protect from the intensity of heat, as the wings pack a punch." Bring it on.
The London, Leeds, Brighton, and Bristol branches are all participating, so make sure that you drop in between 4th April and 29th April if you want to take the challenge.

I could beat this.
I wish they had this around me, I'd absolutely give it a shot.
Only thing I have trouble eating is popcorn chicken kills my stomach, but it's so good I usually have it a couple times a year and just suffer the consequences.
no, nope, nein, nyet, non........ not for me... but good luck to those that do...!!
TOP TIP: Place a nine pack of loo roll in the freezer in preparation!!!
Maybe if I was younger, but nowadays I can't handle spicy foods.
Yeah usually when I buy/eat hot food I'll add extra heat, I could probably do this although I'd probably have a stroke, no branches in the north west, meh.
I'm not that far from Leeds. Tempting. Very very tempting.....
I love hot wings, although it might give new meaning to the term "Flamelurker." Might have to pay MeatLiquor a visit. PRAISE THE SUN!
Dark Souls III prepare to fry edition!
Hahaha! Finally a gaming competition where white nerds don't have a huge advantage over us! Although I admire your courage @get2sammyb, it's probably best you cheer me on while I do what I do
There is a US tv show called Man versus Food. After the insane host ate a renowned hot curry the UK TV critic, Charlie Brooker, proclaimed he would love to see the next day in an episode re-named Man versus Toilet.
I scoff at this challenge. Bring something like to this to Trinidad please. I'll devour your so called "hot" wings and and demand more...
I would be up for the challenge but sadly they don't do this silly things in my country :/
I would try this, if i wasn't vegetarian.
@dellyrascal yeah, after completion i'd suggest chucking up and then drinking a couple of litres of yoghurt over the following few hours.
Childsplay my culture is based around spice. I even won 2 hot sauce ( more like a chili/pepper grinded paste) drinking contest in my youth. Although, the diarrhea is unavoidable.
You know, I would honestly give this a try if I was in the UK. I can surprisingly handle hot wings pretty well.
Of course, I say that knowing I'd probably cry after just one.
My old man stomach would leave my body if i ever even thought about it.
Call me when they host a Nutella challenge.
Ive lived in Thailand and the first step when making thai food is take 15 chillies (prik kee noo-mouse s*it chilli) and then the second step is usually take 10 chillies and add to the first 15 and while thai food can be incredibly hot from the amount of chilli in it, the heat doesn't overwhelm the taste and freshness(chillies are often used raw) of whatever it is you are eating but in things like this the heat is overwhelming(obviously!) and it spoils the taste of the food and it becomes unpleasant, heat for heats sake? Think id probably pass although if my kids heard about this they would bug me into trying it and sheffield to leeds isnt that far...
I can't even handle spicy-mild. This would probably kill me.
What kind of chilli sauce are we talkin' about here? lol If it's made of really spicy stuff like habaneros, jalapeños, or bird's eyes chili then I don't think I'll be able to handle it.
It burns more coming out then it does going in lol
Terrible with spice, so this would be a no-go for me.
Yumm.. I could go for something spicy right now.
This is hilarious. 10/10.
I'd have a good go at this as I love spicy food As WanderingBullet said what chilli sauce are we talking about?
I'm into hot sauce, I use Dave's special reserve when cooking. I reckon I could beat this but by the time I've spent money on petrol getting to leeds and back I'd have already paid for the game, which my GF preordered anyway for my birthday.
Damn. Should have done this in the north west. @Bad-MuthaAdebisi and I could have competed.
Me and a couple of mates are seriously considering this after I get back from France
