PS4 Firmware Update 3.00 Weighs in at 250.3MB

The day doth cometh, as PlayStation 4 firmware update v3.00 has arrived. The system software overhaul weighs in at just 250.3MB in size, so shouldn't take you longer than ten or so minutes to download on an average connection. Remember that if you leave your system in Rest Mode it will do all of the heavy lifting for you – so you won't even have to wait when you eventually turn your console on.

New features in this refresh include the ability to create Communities around certain games and interests, an Events calendar allowing you to keep track of everything that's occurring on PS4, and many other fresh social features. I got in on the beta a while ago. The features aren't bad but there was not much in there to get me that excited. The community aspect is kinda cool, but I have really paid it that much attention. Maybe now that the general PS4 populace has access it'll become a bit more vibrant.

That new friends grouping feature is atrocious. I'm almost offended by how bad it is.

@Garlicbread316 It's not what I expected it to be. I thought it would be a way to distill larger friends groups into smaller groups - 'Work Colleagues', 'Family', etc - but instead it creates a Messages group and spams everyone. It's bad.

i badly need to REMOVE bloody deleted games icons from my library for good!!! also need 1080p YouTube upload! also some customization could be useful, like possibility to make icons from captured in-game pictures via some simplified software (icon creator), where you can add some effects and text to the picture... we also need a way to set captured images/videos as wallpapers/themes of P4... THAT'S WHAT WE NEED SONY!!!!! NOT THIS PEEP

I wanna see how the YT streaming is and if it saves what you've streamed to your YT channel to view as a regular video afterwards?

@Jocinetu Just be glad that Library is not as bad as the PS3 download list. That thing is huge. Every demo, every DLC, every game trailer, everything I have downloaded since the PS3 US Launch. I would love to be able to at least delete demos and free games (anything I didn't pay for) from my list. Deleting games you no longer want (like PS+ stuff) would just be icing. Please Sony!
