After complaints of a lowered framerate in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt following patch 1.07, CD Projekt Red dedicated the title's latest update, 1.08, to boosting performance back to its best. According to a detailed report from our friends over at Digital Foundry, 1.08 delivers on its promises, too, cleaning up any framerate issues that 1.07 introduced.
However, if the open world role playing game's performance still isn't to your liking, the publication has a suggestion. Patch 1.07 added optional post-processing effects such as blur and motion blur, and apparently, disabling both of these can lead to the release running even smoother, especially in dense areas. And what's more, the resulting visual downgrade isn't all that noticeable.
In any case, it's at least something to try in order to see if your own experience is altered for the better. Have you been gallivanting about as Geralt after update 1.08? Have you noticed any improvements? Tell us why anything under 30 frames-per-second is a broken mess in the comments section below.

Played a little bit after 1.08 and the framerate was worse for me then ever. I dont know, everyone will probably have their own experiences.
I haven't tried it yet. I'm not play it again in-till NG+ is out...
@Flurpsel I found the same out in Velen. Weirdly, everything was spot on as soon as I hit Novigrad. The frame-rate I can deal with, but it was little bits of scenery very briefly (but still noticeably) flickering in and out of existence.
Hoping it was just a temporary thing though, because as I said after the first hour or so I hit Novigrad and it was all silky smooth!
They probably should have done dynamic resolution like the Xbox version which runs better, regardless both consoles were to weak which is why the game got downgraded.
Seriously why the hang up on a few frame rate issues? This game is just spectacular. Just enjoy it people!
Yay, the patch works! I was having some serious issues with it but now it's all good and I can enjoy it again. Patch 1.07 really messed up my game for some reason
Actually things seem worse now, I keep having slow downs moving around novigrad now.
It amazes me how many people are making comments that they cannot see any improvement in the frame rate. They are either blind, have very short memories or just xbot trolls.
I suggest they delete the game and all updates, then play the game from scratch with the internet turned off. Then turn the internet on and load all the updates. The difference is huge. It's a pleasure to play now because it does not hurt the eyes anymore. The dev has done an amazing job on PS4 and it's running in detailed 1080p unlike the XB1 version.
But the updates are not perfect. They have actually bust some quests while fixing others and there is a weird NPC duplication going on where u see a clone in some cut scenes. This clone thing has broken the travelling salesman because you cannot enter his shop due to the clone being the real shop.
@SteveButler2210 i was on the northernmost island of skellige and it started raining and I had the worst fps Ive had so far. Meh, I dont mind that much actually.
I do mind the fact that I am now at lvl17 and running into bandits of lvl25 everywhere and my sword connecting with their faces isnt doing anything... I really dont like the leveling in this game
@GraveLordXD - Sometime this month I believe? It will be released as DLC but free.
