Well that didn't take very long, did it? The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's promised PlayStation 4 patch is available to download now - in Europe, at least. But have no fear North Americans, for CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the update will be released over on your end as soon as possible.
The patch supposedly addresses the two most common complaints regarding the open world adventure. Firstly, it features improved performance during cutscenes and gameplay - which we can only imagine refers to the title's sometimes choppy frame rate. Secondly, the update increases the size of loot window text, which hopefully means that you'll no longer have to squint to see what it is that you're busy rummaging through.
Take a look at the full patch notes courtesy of the game's official forums, and tell us if you've noticed any of the included improvements in the comments section below.
Patch Notes:
- Corrects a bug where the player was able to shoot bolts at friendly NPCs.
- Corrects an issue related to Stamina regeneration while sprinting.
- Corrects a bug that could cause spontaneous combustion of gas clouds.
- Reduces spawn times for certain groups of NPCs.
- Blood particles will now properly appear on water surfaces after foes are killed.
- Corrects a visual effect in the Wandering in the Dark quest.
- Improves foliage behavior in scenes.
- Reduces foliage shadow popping.
- "Melltith" sword is visible again.
- Fixes some minor graphics bugs in gwent.
- Corrects some missing translations in localized versions.
- Improves performance, especially in cutscenes and during gameplay.
- Introduces a number of minor improvements in SFX.
- Fixes an issue that could have caused an infinite loading screen in certain circumstances in Wandering in the Dark quest.
- Corrects an issue in the dialogue system that might have caused rare instances of dialogue looping in certain scenes.
- Improves stability in gameplay and the UI, especially during games of gwent.
- Upgrading items included in gear sets no longer destroys rune sockets on said items.
- Fixes an occasional bug in the Journal in the Fake Papers quest.
- Enlarges the loot pop-up window in the UI.

Not bad, not bad at all!
My guess is that the reduces spawn time is for cows, they die really quick, their hide sells surprisingly well and they respawn almost immediately. (It's one of those money exploit tricks.)
Could anyone please let us know if you find the text getting any larger. I installed the update and it still looks small.
I have to stop myself from buying this game and Batman or I'll never see sunlight ever again.
@bimobazinga can you f*** see any difference.. Patch changed absolutely nothing for me.. No font size, no frame rate stability.. Fkn sort it out you f****
@SethRollins you're friendly! in terms of the patch, it doesn't address the frame rate problem (at least in any meaningful way for me) or the small text 'problem' within menus (not an issue for me but no doubt frustrating on small tellies). Maybe next time
Just because the patch is downloaded doesn't mean it's installed, just saying
@SethRollins The font size is menus isn't changed at all, but when I am looting stuff I can see that the entire pop up window is larger and easier to read.
After wondering what the patch was for that I downloaded last night, I started noticing the shallow water turning into red murk after killing downers so that's new at least. It does look great though.
I hadn't really noticed the text size. I love reading all the history/lore books that I buy/find so a little enlargement of the text would be great.
Mild quest spoiler
I read a book last that explained exactly who the spirit was existing under the tree in 'the Whispering Hillock' quest (I chose to kill it). Very interesting.
I was already very happy with the performance and to be honest I don't see any difference. The game for me is looking, playing and running fantastic but I do worry with patches that a lot of the times it breaks things. I've had too many frustrating experience with Defiance the game and others where updates have a negative affect. Just like constant updates on apps, they break.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the frame rate's more stable in busy areas. It doesn't seem to fluctuate quite as much, although it's still not hitting that solid 30 frames either.
The performance was not addressed in the patch or it got worse. I am pretty sure it got worse because the game was unplayable last night post-patch. I was in a Velen swamp and fighting four bandits, when the frame-rate got so bad and choppy it was simply unplayable. Same for when I was travelling on horseback.
I have not choice but to stop playing this for six months and hope it gets patched up.
Right now the situation realistically looks like this; The PS4 cannot run the Witcher 3 to a playable level. It's too demanding. The PS4's hardware has been pushed to it's limit so early into it's life-cycle.
@ShogunRok
It got worse for me. Much worse. Playing in Velen and it's unplayable.
@SethRollins You need to post more, I like your attitude.
