It had the pedigree to make survival horror relevant again, but the Silent Hills dream is all but over. Following on from comments made by Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro over the weekend, The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus has now admitted that he's no longer involved with the project either. And worse still, Konami's saying very little about the status of the game.
As part of an awkwardly worded Q&A sent to Eurogamer.net, it said that it will continue to develop the Silent Hill series – but it conspicuously avoided mention of Hideo Kojima's hotly anticipated game. It also added that its contract with Reedus has expired, so that would perhaps explain P.T.'s imminent removal from the PlayStation Store. In other words: this is a real sorry state of affairs.
The worst part is that we firmly believe that it was onto something here. Sigh.

This blows, I had really high hopes for this...
I was beyond excited for this, especially with Reedus' involvement as the main character. This would have skyrocketed survival horror back into popularity, and was one of my most anticipated games ever. Now, all my hopes have been dashed. Thanks a lot, Konami.
The Silent Hills teased & announced at E3 with that P.T. demo is no more, instead we'll likely get an outsourcedone from a lowkey studio with as little funding from Konami as possible. No wonder Konami are keeping quiet...
This is such a shame! They were onto something really good aswell!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi That's exactly how I feel right now.
@MadchesterManc Yep, probably, and I won't be buying it. This was going to be the one triple A horror game I bought for my PS4, to have scary game nights with my friends gathered around in a dark living room around a TV being scared lifeless, passing the controller around when someone dies. But now, it looks like that won't be happening now. I hope Konami gets shut down after MGSV. First they mess with Kojima, and now they ruin/cancel what was set to be the greatest survival horror revival in history. I'm pretty damn mad and want everything to come crashing down on that evil, evil company.
