As someone that still plays the likes of Theme Park on the PSone, BigFest has been on this author's radar for what feels like an eternity. Originally announced for the PlayStation Vita all the way back in 2013, the music festival management simulation has since setup stages on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 as well – but while we thought that we'd have been placing Port-a-Loos for a while now, it remains undated.
Fortunately, there is hope that the free-to-play game may finally be opening its gates to welly wearing hipsters, as the title's been rated for all three of Sony's systems on European ratings board, PEGI. While this isn't confirmation that the release is ready, our understanding is that ratings are one of the last steps in the product production cycle, so hopefully it's getting close to submission now. It's a 12 by the way, with mild bad language cited in the product description.
Shouldn't have let Oasis headline, innit.

Hi Sammy, is this game a indie development from Sony?
@Inahime Sort of. It's being developed by On The Metal, who are a small studio in Sheffield, UK. Obviously it's being published by Sony, though, so it's not "indie" in the traditional sense.
How cool would Spotify integration be? Bands and artists will have price tags for bookings depending on their status; you would actually need to "scout" smaller names in order to fill up the entire festival. Headliners will be expensive and will only be possible with the right approach and after you've established yourself as a big festival. Maybe user ratings of bands, not their actual status, could be an indicator for succes.
I'd also like a real life festival sim where you can prepare a festival every week. You plan ahead the entire week and can also book bands months in advance for one of your festivals; of the band you discovered makes it big in the meanwhile, they'll still have to play on your festival for the price you agreed on when nobody had heard of them. A 3rd stage filler could end up as a headliner on the main stage, or Kanye West could make you lose all your money (along with the little dignity you had left after booking him in the first place) and make you OD on a cocktail of painkillers and whiskey, cause that's rock n roll for ya!
Was interested into I read the word "free to play" I would rather just give devs one big amount of cash upfront for the game
@GamingPenguin I love penguins! <3
@Inahime awesome me too and games hence my name lol
I've also been waiting for this since it was originally announced. I was lucky enough to play around with it at PSX
@foxr6raven I haven't played it yet. What were your impressions?
@get2sammyb I liked it a lot, it felt just like a Theme Park or pretty much any Tycoon game. The thing that concerns me is that you need these "special tickets" in order to do certain things, like build a food stand or upgrade something, so you'll either have to wait a long time or pay for "tickets" on PSN. I really wanted to see more bands or how that all works but it was a demo and only had a few bands on there.
@GamingPenguin Remember Penguin Land on the Sega Master System? I used to love that game.
Been waiting for this one.
F2P ruins games like these. Just stick a price on it!
