The disappointment was almost palpable during Sony's PlayStation Experience event earlier today as Adam Boyes mentioned Persona 5, only to confirm that it is indeed coming to North America in 2015.
And, er, that was about it. We didn't have any doubts that the highly anticipated RPG would make it West, but at least now it's set in stone, even if we're incredibly worried that the game will take an eternity to reach European shores. While we pray to Atlus, take a look at the title's teaser trailer — now with more English — and tell us how high up your wishlist this is in the comments section below.

I'm super looking forward to Persona 5. Persona 4 is one of my favourite RPG's - I just hope that it comes to Europe sometime in 2015.
Such a golf clap announcement. Atlus are gonna wanna get Persona shizz out fast in the west from now on with P4G hitting the mainstream, so it was obviously going to arrive in 2015. Hopefully when some details are actually announced we'll be getting an actual dungoen crawling RPG this time instead of a waifu simulator
They had already confirmed that Persona 5 was to be released in NA; this announcement was just to confirm it will appear on PS4 as well as PS3.
Which is even lamer, but I won't hold that against them. This time. c:<
@HylianJowi It was confirmed to be on PS4 at the Tokyo Game Show, unless you mean it was confirmed for PS4 in the West?
As far as I'm aware, though, it was never formally announced for a Western release in this capacity. I think this was basically just Sony squeezing an applause from the audience, and the mention of another game into the show.
On a scale of 1 to 10 my anticipation for this game is about 78... I'm somewhat torn because I really want to see more about the game but at the same time I don't want too much info. I want a lot of the game to be a surprise. The only thing I really want is a solid release date. Keeping my fingers crossed that it releases very soon after if not with the Japanese release. They delayed the game to put it on PS4 so that shouldn't affect the work they've done to translate it to English right?
@ShogunRok Atlus USA confirmed it was localizing Persona Q, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and Persona 5 (for PS3) waaay back in February. Totally agree on Sony just milking it for audience approval, though.
@HylianJowi I know, I wrote this story back in February: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2014/02/persona_5_brings_style_to_western_ps3s_in_2015.
So then this was purely to say it's coming on PS4, too? Or did they just want to say it on stage? Either way... not quite a surprise.
@ShogunRok Whether for a more formal stage announcement or for the addition of PS4 as a platform, I think we can both agree it was an underwhelming part of the presentation.
That said, I should have known Atlus wouldn't want to reveal the first footage of the game during a Western conference taking place at 3 AM in Japan.
@HylianJowi For sure, it didn't match up at all in terms of showing something new. I think after seeing those 'teasing' tweets from journalists, everyone thought it was going to have a big presence at the show. Expectations kill!
I'm still waiting for the exact NA release date to be announced, hopefully that'll happen before Spring or Summer 2015.
