While there’s a small chance that a future instalment in the Gears of War franchise could come to the PlayStation 4, developer Epic Games has ruled out a rumour that’s doing the rounds right now. Chatting with IGN, the company said that the supposed Gears of War: Redux logo pictured – which hints at a PS4 release – is fake, adding that it “would never use that font”.
Gears of War has remained an Xbox exclusive since its inception, but Microsoft does not own the brand, meaning that a multiplatform release could feasibly occur. Still, given the negative press surrounding the Redmond-based manufacturer’s latest console at the moment, we reckon that it will be eager to lock down as much content as it can – even if it costs a chunk of change.

To be honest Im not sure if a Gears of War on Playstation would really do too well. Sure it'd help in the states but everywhere else would be a bit meh about it if it was true. Its such an unashamadly M$ brand that anyone whos not tried the game before would be a bit cautious of it on Playstation. I enjoyed 1&2 sure, but Gears has grated on me a lot since so I wouldnt be interested personally for a Gears on Ps4...
I was actually pretty excited for this, which is weird because I can't stand Gears of War.
no big loss the Gears games are crap anyway
the first gears of war was the only good gears multiplayer wise...........after that they ruined the experience by trying to make it too tactical.
Yeah, Gears of War is almost as bad an idea as GOD of War. Nobody even misses it either. I mean, the first one came out in 07 with Mass Effect cause 360 =ed 3rd p shooters with military/science themes... time for some new ideas!!
@charlesnarles God of War was a bad idea?
@charlesnarles ... God of War rules. (Though I agree that it probably needs a break/change.)
I like the Gears games and since I have no intention of buying an Xbox One at this point in time I would've liked for this to be true. Oh well.
@LDXD xD ahahaha that made my night
