One in the chamber

We suspect that there are going to be a fair few copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 stuffed beneath the Christmas tree next Tuesday. Activision’s commercial steamroller has secured a fifth week at the top of the UK sales charts, equalling LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes’ spell at the summit.

Hitman: Absolution surged back into second following a slew of bargain bin deals around the nation, while Far Cry 3 dropped into fifth. FIFA 13 held strong in third, as Assassin’s Creed III climbed into sixth. Elsewhere, Wonderbook: Book of Spells continued to lurk around the middle of the chart in 23rd, while Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified secured a re-entry in 34th.
