Number one with a bullet

Rebellion’s crass but enjoyable Sniper Elite V2 has maintained its position atop the UK sales charts, beating out faithful favourites such as FIFA Street and FIFA 12 for a second week running. The World War II shooter was joined by Prototype 2 and Mass Effect 3 in the top five, while Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 sat just outside in sixth.

New release Starhawk debuted in 17th, a disappointing result for a game of its calibre. Considering the dreadful sales numbers in the UK at the moment, we shudder to think how many units it actually sold.

To round out this week’s summary, let’s play a little quiz: what do you think will be the best selling game in Britain next week? Here’s a hint: Max Payne 3 releases on Friday.
