Sony's emphasising content with a PlayStation Home redesign that puts games first.

It's coming tomorrow.

"We are launching a new experience for PlayStation Home that will feature a revamped Home Square and a new 'districts' design that will help you find games, people and places that fit your favourite game genre," explained Sony online marketing supremo, Darren Cairns. "Games, people and places are now easier to access than ever before and help form part of the biggest social casual gaming service on any console."

As we've reported previously, four new districts will make up the new PlayStation Home: Action, Sportswalk, Adventure and Indie Park. Each will promote unique content suited to each location's mood. So in the Action district you'll find Home's new free-to-play first-person shooter, Bootleggers '29. Meanwhile, in the Sportswalk district you'll be able to participate in games of pool, poker and darts.

It's all part of Sony's strategy to reinvent PlayStation Home as a social gaming experience. "The new revamp of PlayStation Home puts you right at the centre of a world of games, with spaces, games and activities themed around the types of games you know and love on your PS3," Cairns concluded.
