We Don't Know If You Know This But, Silent Hill Is Fucked Up.

First of all, it will launch exclusively on PlayStation 3 this Fall. Konami's not ruling out other platforms entirely, but the title will be exclusive "for now". The publisher cited the series long established alliance with the PlayStation platform.

The Collection will include updated HD versions of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. The PlayStation 3 release will include all-new voice acting and trophy support. The Fall date Konami's touting leads us to believe it'll be out in time for Hallowe'en. That makes sense right?

It's a shame the collection doesn't include the much derided Silent Hill 4: The Room, nor the more recent Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. We're secretly hoping the collection includes a download voucher for the original Silent Hill, which is available from the PlayStation Store. Seeing as that game's yet to get a European release though, it's looking unlikely.

We've told this story before but, once more for the road eh? We own virtually every Silent Hill game there is, but we haven't completed any of them. We suspect we're going to hastily pre-order our copy of Silent Hill Collection only to stick it back on the shelf. Who knows, perhaps the added allure of trophies will force us to finally confront Pyramid Head.
