We'd Love To Ask This Guy Why He Keeps A Stack Of Monitor Speakers In His Living Room.

Rock Band is presumably dead (for now, anyway). But apparently someone forgot to send Ubisoft the memo, as its just announced Rocksmith, a new music game for the PlayStation 3.

According to reports, the game will ship with an input jack that works with a real guitar. The idea being that you'll be able to play the game with your own instrument, at the very least negating the necessity for more plastic instruments. Don't think Ubisoft's not got expensive bundles in mind though, it's apparently in talks with the "likes of Gibson" to sell a $200 bundle, featuring a guitar and a copy of the game.

The game's set to feature artists and songs that have never appeared in Rock Band or Guitar Hero. Ubisoft wants to create a new generation of guitar players. The game's out in September.
