Oddworld's Coming Home, Baby. We're Feigning Our Excitement.

There, we said it. Never have, never will. Regardless, we know a lot of our loyal readers are big fans. And we also know you're about to go nuts when we tell you about VG247's big new report; Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is getting remade for the PlayStation 3 by Brit studio Just Add Water, and will hit next Easter.

It'll be the franchise's first outing on the PlayStation platform since 1998's Abe's Exodus. It's strange that, because we've always considered Oddworld a "PlayStation" franchise (like Tekken, Ridge Racer, etc), even though a chunk of the games haven't appeared on PlayStation platforms.

Stranger's Wrath was an XBOX title back in 2005. The updated version will be a PlayStation Network release.

"Since word got out that we've been working with Oddworld Inhabitants there have been many rumours circulating about what we're working on," JAW boss Stewart Gilray said.

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too.

The game will ship in 720p with a bunch of new rendering techniques made possible thanks to the PlayStation 3. Interestingly, the game will also support the motion controller (yep, chalk up another title).

Rumours of Oddworld content from JAW emerged earlier in the year.
