Per Collins Dictionary, a saros is "a cycle of about 18 years 11 days (6585.32 days) in which eclipses of the sun and moon occur in the same sequence and at the same intervals as in the previous such cycle."

In other words, a saros is the observable time it takes for the same eclipses to occur.
This is important to the PS5 game because it revolves around the Eclipse observed on the alien planet Carcosa, one that alters the state of the landscape when it happens.
