Following the events of Chapter 1, our protagonist Leon has managed to get himself locked up alongside a mysterious stranger named Luis. The two escape their chains during the opening cutscene of Chapter 2 and Leon learns Ashley could have been taken to a Church.

Head for the Church

While the Church may be Leon's next main destination, first he needs to get his gear back. Leave the room, grab the Green Herb from the breakable box in the corridor, and then exit the building to discover you're in the sewage system. Along the linear path ahead, make sure to take the Kitchen Knife out of the body; you'll need it shortly. You'll encounter some Villagers patrolling the building upstairs, so get stealthy and sneak up on them, instantly killing them with an attack from the Kitchen Knife. Your gear is in the central room of the Abandoned Factory, so make your way around, quietly dealing with the Villagers as you encounter them.

When you reach the door leading to your gear, you'll find it locked with a crank next to it. Hold the X button to interact with it and it'll reveal a doorway you can use in the room you've just come through. Sprint back there and use the entrance to get all your gear back. Make sure to also take the Green Herbs and Kitchen Knives on the table. To progress, you can now unlock the door leading to where the crank was and then leave the Abandoned Factory out the back door. This is where you'll meet the Merchant.

He's a vendor where you can buy new equipment and items, upgrade your guns, sell unwanted things, and trade Spinels for things. If you completed the first Blue Request Note in Chapter 1, you'll be rewarded with 3 Spinels to spend. We recommend grabbing the Treasure Map: Village and buying the SR M1903 rifle — you'll get its Scope for free along with the purchase. You likely won't have enough Pesetas to buy anything else at this point, so feel free to grab the next Blue Request Note called Pest Control next to the Merchant and complete it in the Abandoned Factory.

Once that's complete, grab the Rifle Ammo next to the Typewriter and continue on. We need to head north, but there's a gate blocking the path with a Hexagon-shaped Slot next to it. Something will fit inside there, so instead head south. You will meet a single Villager on the way, eventually arriving at the Valley.

This area is a dead end, but it contains the item you need to fit the Hexagon-shaped Slot. Upon climbing the ladder, you'll be able to look out across the Valley. Spot the weather vane spinning in the centre? This is where you need to get to, but there are a lot of Villagers standing in your way. Deal with them, looting the houses nearby for supplies as you go. If you can, group up the Villagers around the red barrels for some easy kills.

When the coast is clear, grab the Hexagonal Emblem from the weather vane and also make sure to take the Small Key from a drawer in the house below. This allows you to unlock a Locked Drawer and claim its contents. You can now leave the Valley by raising the gate using the crank located at the end of the northeastern path where the Treasure is. Return to the Hexagon-shaped Slot to unlock the gate next to the Abandoned Factory. Also, consider talking to the Merchant to see if you can buy anything new or acquire some weapon upgrades. If you can afford it, we'd recommend getting the Case Upgrade (7x12) so you can carry more items.

To fit the Hexagonal Emblem into the slot, rotate it left once and then turn it around. This will reveal a crank to turn, thus unlocking the gate. More Villagers await up ahead, but you can sneak up on them for some easy kills. Make sure to grab the Pesetas and a Spinel from the breakable barrels and Resources (L) sitting on top of some boxes, then take the stairs up.

In the area with the altar are two Treasures and a Clockwork Castellan. Further up the path, you'll encounter the Chainsaw Villager again, and this time you'll need to kill it. Use the W-870 shotgun and SR M1903 rifle to land blows to the face, and also make use of the tripwire behind where they spawn to deal some damage.

Once it's dead (again), you can enter the Village Chief's Manor by taking the path to the left around to the back, through the grass, and using the back door — just beware of the bear traps on the ground. Once inside, kill the Villager sitting on the toilet underneath the stairs and loot the Pesetas, Hand Grenade, Small Key, Brown Chicken Egg, and Red Herb from around the house.

The Sub Objective is directing us to enter the room on the second floor, but it's locked. In order to get the key, you'll need to solve a puzzle that unlocks the cupboard on the ground floor behind the dining room. Refer to our All Combination Lock and Electronic Lock Terminal Solutions guide to find the answer, then input it into the padlock to get a Crystal Marble. Insert it into the locked door upstairs and line the air bubbles up with the logo to unlock it. You can get it done quickly if you tilt the sphere upwards, then rotate it either left or right until the edges line up. Once inside, go over to the desk and interact with the drawer to take the Insignia Key and complete Chapter 2.
