Persona 3 Reload: All Social Links and How to Unlock Them

Looking for information on all Social Links in Persona 3 Reload? In this Persona 3 Reload guide, we'll be detailing all of the game's Social Links — otherwise known as the characters that you're able to forge a friendship with. Some Social Links are unlocked automatically as the story progresses, while others require a bit more social maneuvering.

Once you've unlocked a new Social Link, you can develop it by hanging out with the character, either after school or at night, depending on their routine. Spend enough time with someone, and that Social Link will increase in rank, which lets you fuse more powerful personas in the Velvet Room.

Social Links are a key part of Persona 3 Reload, and you're encouraged to unlock and develop as many of them as you can. However, in your first playthrough, it's difficult to reach the highest rank with every Social Link. That's because your free time is quite limited, and you'll need to balance socialising with other activities, like increasing your personality traits, and exploring Tartarus.

Still, if you use your time wisely, you can quite easily max out a number of Social Links before the end of the game. And this is worth attempting, because reaching the highest rank of a Social Link unlocks a unique and powerful persona, tied to that Social Link's Arcana.

This list is loosely based on chronological order. The Social Links at the top are typically unlocked early in the game, while he ones at the bottom are discovered towards the end.

SEES

Arcana: Fool

How to Unlock:

• The SEES Social Link is unlocked automatically, and ranks up automatically as you progress through the game

Mysterious Boy - Pharos

Arcana: Death

How to Unlock:

• Pharos' Social Link is unlocked automatically, and ranks up automatically as you progress through the game

Classmate - Kenji Tomochika

Arcana: Magician

How to Unlock:

• Kenji's Social Link is unlocked automatically as the game progresses

Available On: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Track Team - Kazushi Miyamoto

Arcana: Chariot

How to Unlock:

• Visit the Track Team after hearing about school clubs early in the game
• Join the Track Team when asked

Available On: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Team Manager - Yuko Nishiwaki

Arcana: Strength

How to Unlock:

• Increase the Track Team (Chariot) Social Link to Rank 2
• Talk to Yuko in the corridor next to your classroom and ask if she'd like to walk home together

Available On: Wednesdays, Saturdays — but isn't available when exams are close

Student Council - Hidetoshi Odagiri

Arcana: Emperor

How to Unlock:

• Go to the Student Council room after being asked to join by Mitsuru (you're asked automatically at a set point in the game)

Available On: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Treasurer - Chihiro Fushimi

Arcana: Justice

How to Unlock:

• Unlock the Student Council (Emperor) Social Link
• Talk to Chihiro in the corridor near the Student Council room
• Talk to Chihiro again on another day
• Talk to Chihiro a third time, on another day, and ask if she'd like to hang out
• Talk to Chihiro a fourth time, on another day, and ask if she'd like to walk home together

Available On: Tuesdays, Thursdays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Old Couple - Bunkichi and Mitsuko Kitamura

Arcana: Hierophant

How to Unlock:

• Visit the bookshop in Iwatodai Strip Mall after it reopens
• Speak to the old couple to learn about the persimmon tree on school grounds
• Visit the persimmon tree after school — it's in the school's courtyard, which is through the eastern corridor exit towards the track field
• Inspect the tree and take the persimmon leaf back to the old couple

Available On: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays after school

Online Game - Maya

Arcana: Hermit

How to Unlock:

• Receive the Online Game from Junpei (this happens automatically at a set point in the game)
• On a Sunday, interact with the laptop in your room and choose to play the Online Game

Available On: Sundays during the day

Gourmet King - Nozomi Suemitsu

Arcana: Moon

How to Unlock:

• Increase the Classmate (Magician) Social Link to Rank 3, and Kenji will mention the "Gourmet King" when you next talk to him
• Find the so-called Gourmet King in Paulownia Mall during the day
• You need Level 2 Charm in order to speak with Nozomi
• Nozomi will ask you to take part in a food quiz, and you'll need to answer his questions correctly
• If you get a question wrong, you'll need to come back on another day to try again
• Here are the correct answers, just in case you need them:
  Most popular drink - Pheromone Coffee
  Azuki-chan's skirt - Red
  Hagakure secret menu - Hagakure Bowl
• Next, Nozomi will ask you to bring him something he's never eaten before — an "odd morsel"
• Luckily, a recovery item called Odd Morsel can be found in Tartarus; depending on how far into the game you are, you should have no trouble finding one and giving it to Nozomi
• Choose to spend the day with Nozomi

Available On: Every day after school, or during the day when there's no school

Girl at the Shrine - Maiko Oohashi

Arcana: Hanged

How to Unlock:

• Go to Naganaki Shrine after hearing about the elementary school student who visits
• Speak to Maiko, and she'll ask for some food that's "round, hot, and soft"
• Go to Iwatodai Strip Mall and buy some Weird Takoyaki from the food grill to the right
• Give the Weird Takoyaki to Maiko
• She'll now ask for a "mad and fizzy" drink
• Buy a Mad Bull from the vending machine at Iwatodai Station
• Give the Mad Bull to Maiko
• Come back to see Maiko on another day

Available On: Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays after school

Transfer Student - Bebe

Arcana: Temperance

How to Unlock:

• Check the sign on the door to the Home Economics room at school
• You need Level 2 Academics in order to read the sign
• Choose to enter the Home Economics room when it's open and agree to join Bebe

Available On: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Art Club - Keisuke Hiraga

Arcana: Fortune

How to Unlock:

• Visit the Art Club room at school after hearing about it being open to new members later in the game
• Join the Art Club when Keisuke asks

Available On: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Businessman - President Tanaka

Arcana: Devil

How to Unlock:

• Increase the Online Game (Hermit) Social Link to Rank 4, and Maya will mention "a man from TV" who hangs around Paulownia Mall at night
• Go to Paulownia Mall at night and you'll find Tanaka standing around
• You need at least Level 4 Charm for Tanaka to take notice of you
• You then have to pay Tanaka 20,000 yen
• After some time has passed (around two or three in-game weeks), Tanaka will reappear at Paulownia Mall
• Go see Tanaka again and give him 10,000 yen
• Several days later, Tanaka will appear in the same place again
• Talk to him once more, and give him another 10,000 yen

Dying Young Man - Akinari Kamiki

Arcana: Sun

How to Unlock:

• Increase the Girl at the Shrine (Hanged) Social Link to Rank 3 and you'll be introduced to Akinari
• You can find Akinari at the shrine on Sundays, but only after Koromaru has started living in the dorm
• You'll need at least Level 4 Academics in order to talk with Akinari
• Akinari will mention that his fountain pen is lost — you'll need to find it
• Go back to the dorm and speak to Koromaru
• Bring the Red Fountain Pen back to Akinari

Available On: Sundays during the day

Unusual Monk - Mutatsu

Arcana: Tower

How to Unlock:

• Increase the Team Manager (Strength) Social Link to Rank 4 and Yuko will mention a "guy dressed as a monk" who hangs around at Club Escapade in Paulownia Mall the next time you talk to her
• You need at least Level 2 Courage to enter Club Escapade in Paulownia Mall at night
• You need at least Level 3 Courage to talk to Mutatsu, who can be found sitting up on the balcony
• Mutatsu will demand booze
• Go downstairs and talk to the bartender (who's actually standing in front of the bar, to the left)
• The bartender will ask you to gather orders from around the club
• Once you've talked to the four club-goers, go back to the bartender and tell him the orders
• In case you forget, the orders are as follows:
  Girl by the entrance - Margarita
  Girl standing by the table - Bloody Mary
  Girl in the middle of the floor - Screwdriver
  Guy over there - Oolong Tea
• Get all the orders right and the bartender will get the monk's order

Rival Athlete - Mamoru Hayase

Arcana: Star

How to Unlock:

• Unlock the Track Team (Chariot) Social Link by joining the club earlier in the game
• Later in the game, you'll automatically compete in a track competition against Hayase
• After the competition is over, you can find Hayase standing around Iwatodai Strip Mall during the day
• You need at least Level 4 Courage to hang out with Hayase

Available On: Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays after school

Fuuka Yamagishi

Arcana: Priestess

How to Unlock:

• Unlock the Art Club (Fortune) Social Link by joining the club
• Talk to Fuuka outside of your classroom after school
• You need Level 6 Courage to hang out with Fuuka

Available On: Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays after school — but isn't available when exams are close

Note: Partaking in activities with Fuuka back at the dorm develops the Social Link by a small amount

Yukari Takeba

Arcana: Lovers

How to Unlock:

• Later in the game, Yukari will become available as a potential Social Link
• Talk to her in your classroom after school
• You need Level 6 Charm to hang out with Yukari

• Much, much later in the game, Aigis will become available as a potential Social Link

How to Unlock:

• The Nyx Annihilation Team Social Link is unlocked automatically much later in the game, and will rank up automatically as the game progresses
