Square Enix will finally lift the lid on its looter shooter title from developer People Can Fly this week with a full demo of Outriders. It's set to contain a lot of content, so you might be wondering what exactly is included and whether your progress will carry over into the main game. In this Outriders guide, we're going to reveal everything you need to know about the game's demo and its contents.

Outriders Demo: Dates and Start Times

The Outriders demo starts on Thursday 25th February 2021 at the following times:

  • North America: 9am PST / 10am MST / 11am CST / 12pm EST
  • UK/Ire: 5pm GMT
  • Europe: 6pm CET / 7pm EET
  • Asia/Oceania: 2am JST / 1am AWST / 4am AEDT

For the Asian and Oceanic regions, the demo starts in the morning of Friday 26th February 2021.

There is no end time to the Outriders demo because it won't be pulled from the PlayStation Store. This free taster is sticking around for the foreseeable future, meaning you can download it and give the game a go whenever you like.

Outriders Demo: File Size and Pre-Load

The Outriders demo will be roughly 22GB on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, pre-load won't be possible. You will have to download the demo once it is uploaded to the PS Store. You don't need to pre-order Outriders to gain access to the demo, nor do you have to redeem a code externally.

Outriders Demo: What's Included

Outriders is offering an impressive amount of content with its free demo, allowing you to experiment with every class in the game and sample a handful of levels. The demo will give you access to the game's prologue and opening chapter, which upon completion, opens up more side content to complete. You'll be able to play as all four classes up to a cap of level seven. by which point you will have unlocked four abilities and two skill points.

The crafting system won't be part of the Outriders demo, but you will be able to progress up to World Tier 5 in terms of difficulty. The higher you go, the better your loot drops will be.

Outriders Demo: Cross-Play and Cross-Progression

Just like the full game, the Outriders demo will support cross-play across all platforms it is available on. This includes PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You will have to manually activate cross-play in the demo's settings to get the feature up and running.

Probably one of the coolest features of the Outriders demo is that all the progress you make will carry over into the full game. This will include your progress through the story, your character levels and loot, levels, and inventory.
