What are Programs and how do you advance them in MLB The Show 21? The best way to think of Programs is that they are similar to Battle Passes you find in titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As you achieve different tiers in each Program, you'll unlock rewards, like The Show Packs and Stubs. As part of our MLB The Show 21 guide, we're going to explain Programs and how to advance them on this page. For more information specifically on Stubs, refer to the following: MLB The Show 21: How to Earn Stubs without Spending Money.
MLB The Show 21: What Are Programs?
Programs in MLB The Show 21 can be best compared to Battle Passes in popular games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There will be many different Programs introduced over the course of the game's lifespan, each with different Tasks and Rewards. While Programs predominantly give away items for Diamond Dynasty (See Also: MLB The Show 21: Where to Start in Diamond Dynasty) it's possible to advance your progress whichever mode you play.
Are Programs Free?
Yes, every Program in MLB The Show 21 is free and you will advance your progress as long as you're fulfilling the requirements.
MLB The Show 21: How to Advance Your Program Progress
The main program in MLB The Show 21 is the Inning Program. In the Inning Program, you're rewarded for playing matches by earning XP, which in turn increases your progress. If you navigate to the Program in Diamond Dynasty then you'll also see a list of Tasks. These include Daily Missions, Seasonal Missions, Moments, Conquests (See Also: MLB The Show 21: How to Win at Conquest) and Collections. Be sure to complete these tasks for big XP bonuses that will help you to maximise your level and earn even greater rewards.
How to Advance Team Affinity, Player Programs, and Archetypes
The Inning Program is not the only Program in MLB The Show 21, as there are also Team Affinity Programs, Player Programs, and Archetype Programs. These all work in exactly the same way as the Inning Program, although have an alternative currency to XP. For example, in the case of Team Affinity Programs, you'll need to earn TA Points which can be achieved by completing various Tasks. Some of these Tasks are repeatable, which means once you've completed the requirements, you can replay them to earn more progress.
You should always pay attention to the latest Programs available in the game, and prioritise Tasks you can complete, either by altering your Diamond Dynasty roster or by exploring all of the game's modes. This will maximise your rewards across the game, helping you to unlock better MLB Players and increase your number of Stubs. If you're primarily playing Road to the Show then pay attention to the Programs associated with your chosen Archetypes and Perks, which will help you to unlock new Archetypes with which to improve your Ballplayer's loadout. For more information on that, refer to the following: MLB The Show 21: How to Unlock Perks and Upgrade Your Ballplayer.
