Except for its lead member, The Sorrow is the final member of the Cobra Unit you'll face off against in Metal Gear Solid Delta. This Metal Gear Solid Delta guide reveals how to beat The Sorrow.
How Do You Beat The Sorrow in Metal Gear Solid Delta?

The Sorrow is a very unique boss fight, in that you shall never actually attack the mysterious man. This encounter is all about subjecting Snake to the people and animals he's killed during the game up this point, as they walk down the river as ghosts.
All you can do is walk in the opposite direction to them. If the ghosts come into contact with you, they deal damage. The Sorrow also shoots shockwaves at Snake, which damage you.

There are two ways to complete this battle and beat The Sorrow: one very short way and another potentially longer one.
The first way to beat The Sorrow is:
- Dive into the water and cause Snake to drown by losing all his health
- The normal death screen will appear
- Hold Left (New Style) / L1 (Legacy Style) and scroll through to the Revival Pill
- Use this and you'll beat The Sorrow
You can also complete the boss encounter another way, but how long it takes depends on how many enemies and animals you've killed up until this point. Every single enemy you've killed will need to walk past you before you reach the end of the river, where Snake can touch a skeleton in the river.
Doing this still kills Snake, but again, you can use the Revival Pill to win the fight. Doing it this way unlocks an entirely new Uniform called Spirit. If you want this, you must avoid the ghosts in the river and the damage The Sorrow deals, and make it all the way to the end of the river. Obviously, the fewer enemies you've killed, the quicker this will be.
One way you can track how far along you are is to look out for the ghosts of The Pain, The Fear, The End, and The Fury. They will appear on their own, not surrounded by soldiers. As the enemies you've killed appear in order, you shall know you're getting close to the end of the river once you see The End and The Fury.
