Weird Science is a Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16, located in The Hideaway. It first appears during the Main Quest named Out of the Shadow. As part of our Final Fantasy 16 guide, we're going to explain everything you need to know about Weird Science.

Owain, denizen of Mid's dungeon, asks for Clive's assistance in obtaining the bomb ash he needs to complete a new invention. He has only to slay a bomb king — a beast so beastly it has earned its own billet on the hunt board. |
Weird Science: Walkthrough
Weird Science begins when you speak to Owain. He'll ask for your help to create a special filter.
Go to the hunt board and talk to Nektar about bomb sightings. It'll tell you the bomb king you need to kill is in The Crock.
Fast travel to The Dragon's Aery, then venture south. Enter The Imperial Chase, and take the left path up to The Crock, which is where you'll find the bomb king. Defeat it.
Bomb King Spoils:
- 1x Bomb Ember
- 1,000 EXP
- 65 Ability Points
- 9,000 gil
- 20 Renown
Once done, collect the three samples of bomb ash. Next, return to Owain and speak to him to end the quest.
Note: Upon completing this quest, Clive will be able to hold a larger number of consumable items.

- Deliver the bomb ash to Owain in the hideaway
