Ulcerated Tree Spirit: Boss Fight Strategy

By this point in Elden Ring, you should be able to comfortably deal with a foe like Ulcerated Tree Spirit. Despite its sheer scale and aggressive motions, this boss is largely slowly and be dealt with quite comfortably with patience and the right approach. If you're fighting it out in the field, then summoning Torrent and chipping away at it can be a legitimate strategy. If that's not an option then keep your guard up and try to hug its left-side. Wait for its breath attacks and then chip away its health as it takes quite a bit of time to recover.

At some point during the fight, its entire body will turn a nasty shade of yellow-green, and it will explode all over you. This is a good opportunity to back up and get out of the way. If you're a magic user, or can at least cast spells, then you may be able to land a few hits, but your strategy should ultimately be similar to a melee player because this beast is so large that it can be quite hard to stand back and pepper it with magic.

A lot of its more melee based attacks, like claw swipes or even tail swings, can be rolled through, and you'll have an opportunity to land a few hits while it recovers because it can be quite slow at chaining attacks together. Just try not to get too greedy, keep close if possible because it can overshoot some of its moves, and punish when the opportunities arise.
