Mimic Tear: Boss Fight Strategy

Mimic Tear is a really fun boss fight, because you're up against yourself. That means you'll know the timing of every move, the range, and the recovery. You can, of course, easily cheese this foe by unequipping your weapon, waiting for him to spawn, and then going to town. The Mimic Tear will only be able to fight back with its fist, putting you at a huge advantage. Alternatively, the Mimic Tear will only transform when the host player gets close to it, so you can technically summon someone in co-op, hold back, and let your partner kill it before it even transforms.

But if you would like to fight this foe legitimately, then just think about all the ways your build gets punished, and exploit them. You should have a good feel for your strengths and weaknesses by now, and you can use those to your advantage. In truth, this is one of the easier boss fights in the game because of its inherent nature, but it's also one of the cooler and more memorable ones. If you are struggling, remember you can use Summon Spirits to help you out.
