Glinstone Dragon Smarag: Boss Fight Strategy

Just like all the other encounters with dragons, the Glinstone Dragon Smarag should be targetted at its feet and wings. These are the only real accessible parts of its body in order to deal damage. The boss begins the encounter on the ground, allowing you to get some free hits in. However, it will quickly take to the skies in order to relocate to another part of the arena. You'll want to be using Torrent to keep up with it, which in turn also increases your damage when you attack from it.

This particular boss employs Magic/Frostbite attacks whilst up in the air, shooting out a homing projectile from its mouth that you'll need to avoid. It also covers the area in front of it with blue flames, which you won't want to get caught up in. However, if you can get onto one of its sides, this attack can be used to your advantage. Since there's a long charge up time and it breathes the flames out for a while, avoiding them and attacking gives you a great window to chip away at its health bar.

The usual rules of a boss fight continue to apply here, though: always play it safe and only attack when you're sure you have a window of opportunity. Since you're riding Torrent the entire time, you won't be able to block, so make sure you have lots of uses of your Sacred Flask spare. Target those legs, feet, and wings, and the Glinstone Dragon Smarag will be defeated before too long.
