Demi-Human Chiefs: Boss Fight Strategy

Defeating the Demi-Human Chiefs is essential if you want to make passageway to the Church of Dragon Communion and unlock the Tailoring Tools and Sewing Needle, which allow you to make alterations to All Armour and Armour Sets. This boss battle takes place in an area where there are numerous other Demi-Humans, which can make it difficult to manage crowds.

We'd recommend learning How to Summon Spirits and Use Ashes Summons because the Wandering Noble Ashes you find in the Stormfoot Catacombs can be incredibly useful at drawing attention away here. We'd recommend staying close to the fog directly to the right of the boss fight area to start, and seeing if you can get the first Demi-Human Chief stun-locked in the corner. You can block most of the attacks with your shield, and strike him hard when he does an overhead attack. He's quite easy to stagger if you have a decent Weapon, so feel free to slash away for at least three or even four strikes. If you're using a magic build then you're going to have to keep your distance, but Summon Spirits can help with that.

Once the first Demi-Human Chief is down, deal with any remaining Demi-Human stragglers and then turn your attention to the second Demi-Human Chief. This one feels faster and may hit harder, but the same strategy applies. Wait for him to leap up in the air, and then hit him hard while he recovers. You can also get in some attacks while he's screaming, but often he'll follow this move with a combo, so just be careful and play it safe if you need to.

Upon beating both Demi-Human Chiefs, do not take it easy as the fog will clear on the path towards the Church of Dragon Communion, and there are more Demi-Humans along the way.
