What are all Painting locations and rewards in Elden Ring? As you explore The Lands Between, you might come across some strange and mysterious Paintings inside buildings known as Artist's Shacks. In this Elden Ring guide, we're going to reveal all Painting locations and rewards.
Elden Ring: All Painting Locations and Rewards
There are 7 Paintings to find in the game. A Painting in an Artist's Shack is the first of two steps to acquiring a reward. When you find one, approach and interact with it using the Triangle button. You will then pick up the Painting, with the image and description living in the Notes tab of your Inventory. Once you've got it, there will be a reward waiting at the place where the Painting was taken.
To be clear: you are not trying to get to the location the Painting depicts. You're locating the place the Painting was made from. Therefore, you want to match up your place in the open world with the viewpoint of the Painting. When you find the right place, you'll notice a Ghost that looks like an artist. Approach them and they'll disappear, but drop an item as a reward.
Listed below are all Painting locations and rewards. We've included imagery and descriptions of where the Painting is, and then where you need to go to collect your reward.
Homing Instinct Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Artist's Shack Location: From the Summonwater Village Outskirts, head south aboard Torrent and jump up and over the rocks ahead of you. Follow the slight cliff along and the Artist's Shack will be in front of you. Interact with the Homing Instinct Painting inside.
Reward Location: Fast travel to the Seaside Ruins and head north, passing the bats. Just up ahead will be a very small graveyard, and just to the right will be the Artist. Walk up to the Ghost and it will disappear, dropping the Incantation Scarab.
Prophecy Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Artist's Shack Location: In the main open area of Stormveil Castle, where lots of guards are lined up behind defences. Behind them is another enemy equipped with a huge sword and a dog by its side. To the left of them is the Prophecy Painting inside a building.
Reward Location: Fast travel to the Church of Pilgrimage, which is located in the north of the Weeping Peninsula. Head outside and go to the edge of the cliffs, there'll be a piece of ruins sticking out the ground and two birds perched on the edge to the right of it. To the lefthand side of the ruin is the Ghost, but it only appears when you get close. Head on over to claim the Warhawk Ashes.
Resurrection Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Artist's Shack Location: On the eastern side of the Liurnia of the Lakes, the Artist's Shack sits atop the rocks. Just west of the Carian Study Hall. Head inside and interact with the Resurrection Painting.
Reward Location: Within Caria Manor, fast travel to Behind Caria Manor. You can get there by heading to Three Sisters and then travelling to the right and around the manor. Once there, head east until you spot a graveyard. The Ghost will then be on the righthand side of this area, on the other side of a rock sticking diagonally upwards. Approach it to claim the Juvenile Scholar Cap, Juvenile Scholar Robe, and a Larval Tear.
Redmane Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Artist's Shack Location: In Caelid, head to the Site of Grace called Sellia Under-Stair, which is inside Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Go up the stairs, turn right, and the Redmane Painting will be on your left in amongst the rubble.
Reward Location: Sticking in Caelid, fast travel to Dragonbarrow Fork, and head east towards the Minor Erdtree. Head along the road going up until you come to the Minor Erdtree; you're in the right place if you see lots of large, broken pots on your right. Head to the righthand side of the Minor Erdtree, past the wind tunnel that'll launch you up onto the ledge above, and locate the single large pot on your left. If you look down from here, you'll likely see lots of Messages left to indicate that's where you need to drop down.
Using the branches and broken arches below, carefully navigate your way down to the ground below. Some drops can be done on your own, others should be done aboard Torrent. Once you get down the ledge below, simply walk to the edge in the middle and the Ghost will spawn. Touch it to make it disappear and pick up the Ash of War: Rain of Arrows.
Champion's Song Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Artist's Shack Location: Fast travel to The Shaded Castle, more specifically the Shaded Castle Ramparts. Take a left at the stairs behind you and follow the castle wall until you find an area to drop down into on your left. On the righthand side of this area is a sort of wooden hut. On the first floor is the Champion's Song Painting.
Reward Location: From the Site of Grace called Rampartside Path in Altus Plateau, head southeast until you come across a small camp. To your right will be a path heading up you can take, leading back the way you just came. Go up to the very top and head to the cliff edge overlooking Sainted Hero's Grave. Here you'll find the Ghost, which rewards you with the Harp Bow.
Flightless Bird Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Sorcerer Painting: Artist's Shack and Reward Locations
Artist's Shack Location: The final Painting is located at Castle Sol in the Mountaintops of the Giants. From the main entrance, take an immediate left and make your way through the spiked barricades. Go up the staircase and then into the room on your left. Go up the ladder inside and then follow the linear castle wall all the way to its end. You'll find another ladder heading down, with the Sorcerer Painting waiting at the bottom.
Reward Location: Sticking in the Mountaintops of the Giants, fast travel to the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook. Head all the way west, through the valley full of huge skeletons that spawn out of the ground. At the end will be a bridge on your left, with the Ghost sitting halfway along it. Touch it to be rewarded with the Greathood armour piece.
