Death Stranding Director's Cut PS5 How to Unlock Racing Track Guide 1

How do you unlock the Racing Track in Death Stranding Director's Cut? Where is the Racetrack, and how do you access it? One of Death Stranding Director's Cut's biggest new features is the Racing Track, where you can engage in numerous time trials and compare your times with online players. As part of our Death Stranding guide, we're going to explain how you can get the Racetrack and start climbing those leaderboards.

Death Stranding Director's Cut: How to Unlock the Racing Track

To get the Racetrack in Death Stranding Director's Cut, you will need to follow the below steps.

Get to the Junk Shop in Chapter 3: Fragile

To begin your quest to unlock the Racing Track, you'll first need to play through the story until you reach Chapter 3: Fragile. One of the locations you need to connect to the Chiral Network is the Junk Dealer. Get to the Junk Dealer and hook up the Qpid as normal.

It's worth noting that, if you import your save from the PS4 version to Director's Cut on PS5, you may be able to skip a few steps. For more information on bringing over your save, see our guide: Death Stranding Director's Cut: How to Transfer PS4 Save File to PS5.

Complete Order No. 35

Once the Junk Dealer is on the Network, check the orders and look for Order No. 35. Accept Order No. 35 and deliver the cargo to Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City. Once this is done, leave the building and you should receive an email from Thomas Sutherland, subject line: 'Come Roar Around the Racetrack of Your Dreams!'

Build the Racing Track

As you'll read in the email, there will be a Racetrack Terminal to the south of the Timefall Farm. First off, get to the Timefall Farm. Keep heading towards the south of the map and you should see the Racetrack Terminal in the middle of nowhere.

Approach the Racetrack Terminal and it'll tell you it needs some materials in order to construct the Racing Track. The materials it needs are as follows:

  • Chiral Crystals: 650
  • Metal: 2240
  • Ceramics: 1960

These amounts should be partially met already, and you should be able to claim any missing materials from the nearby Timefall Farm. It won't take much time or effort to fulfill the material requirements at the Racetrack Terminal.

Fasten Your Seatbelt

As soon as the Racetrack Terminal has the necessary materials, the Racing Track will be built, and you can immediately begin taking part in races.

When you access the Terminal again, you will be able to do Time Trials in various vehicles (don't worry, you don't need to bring any vehicles to the Racing Track yourself). Your best times will be put on leaderboards, and once you complete each event, you'll then be able to play them in Ranked mode and compete against other players. Enjoy!
