Knockout City takes a simple premise — dodgeball-inspired multiplayer brawls — and properly nails it. The throwing, catching, dodging gameplay feels magnificent, and smacking an opponent with a perfectly placed shot is oh so satisfying. There's surprising depth to the addictive team-based matches, making each one unpredictable in the best way. With a huge amount of cosmetics to unlock, ongoing seasonal updates, and incredibly smooth rollback netcode, this is one that'll keep you and your friends coming back. It's even free to play until you reach level 25, giving you a good few hours to give it a shot.

Publisher: Activision / Developer: Raven Software
Release Date: 10th Mar 2020 (USA) / 10th Mar 2020 (UK/EU)

Warzone is Call of Duty's standalone release featuring two game modes on one gigantic map. Battle Royale is the main attraction, and it's a slick, simple take on the popular sub-genre with some interesting ideas, such as the Gulag. Plunder mode is an interesting alternative, with the focus on gathering cash instead of surviving as long as possible. As one package, it's pretty good, and as a free-to-play title, it's hard to complain. Where we droppin'?

Apex Legends became a phenomenon overnight, but every inch of its success has been earned. Respawn Entertainment’s brilliant take on Battle Royale lobs in a squad-based hero shooter twist, which is just enough to set it apart from its many contemporaries on the PS4. Rock-solid shooting and some smart design decisions – such as the implementation of the Ping system, which improves communication – make this one of the strongest surprise hits in recent memory.

Throwing in basic crafting alongside the last man standing mentality, this cartoonish shooter is a phenomenon, and a blast with friends. It's also become more than just the game, with some amazing events taking place and a ton of guest characters to boot.
