@Octane Sounds disturbingly similar to the start of Twilight Princess. Seriously, what is up with the parallels there? At least it's pretty, which gives it an edge over the bland-looking TP.

Kinda going against my usual M.O. for this. I'd gladly put SMB3 over the hump, but it doesn't feel right to go against MGS2. Even if it was somewhat pretentious (what, with the whole postmodernism thing), I still respect and admire the game itself. Still good to play too.
I know I've gone into detail about how Uncharted 4 disappointed me, but I still think it's a good game. Gameplay is still enjoyable and the story is a worthy enough finale for Nathan Drake's tale.
I haven't finished FF9, but I'm enjoying it so much I'm willing to vote for it this once.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Uncharted 4 Final Fantasy 9
Fairly easy selections for me actually. Only one I’m sad to see go is Okami. It’s a gem. But I can’t put it above UC4, one of my favorite franchises.
Not being a Nintendo fan makes it easy to leave off Mario and Zelda games. Sorry for my bias, but isn’t this poll all inherently about our own personal biases?
Interesting to note that we advanced every single mainline Metal Gear Solid game from 1 through 5. I think it’s the only series that is batting 1.000. (Sorry for the baseball comparison for you Europeans. I don’t know the equivalent Soccer term 😉) So I don’t want to have that streak die, although MGS2 is not my favorite metal gear game. Maybe after experiencing the Dark Souls remaster in May my vote would be different, but for now, advance Snake!

@Ralizah The difference is that in Twilight Princess you're actually doing stuff, whilst you're watching cut scenes half the time in Okami. And the text... it's sooo slow. Here's the opening cut scene, it's nearly 10 minutes! And you have to press A after every sentence, but you cannot speed it up. I guess it's interesting if you're playing it for the first time, but playing it for the umpteenth time, it's way too slow to deal with: https://youtu.be/KHAeFojDIfA?t=10
After the opening cut scene another one follows, it makes you think that the gameplay is about to start, but then you're thrown right into a dialogue with two characters.
@themcnoisy It was a great idea and would have worked out fine with this community. It's not like others would have been barred from posting in the same thread. Yes, you would have had to sift through many posts to get to the picks, but you've done that before anyway when there have been multiple digressions.
I think @tasuki should have given you the benefit of the doubt.
@themcnoisy Whilst you've edited your original post, I've picked up the idea of what you were proposing from subsequent replies and I have to applaud your initiative. It would've been a lot for you to track and manage, and you're a hero for trying. Plus, anything that encourages co-operation and debate can only bring a community closer together... however, I can also understand why some people might've reacted differently. We might've had an entire round being decided by five or six dedicated chatterboxes, which would then lead to an imbalanced, biased finale. Nevertheless, maximum respect for the intention, and continued thanks to you for running this whole show.
My choices for the current round of voting are as follows.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Final Fantasy IX
Normally, I think I'd vote in favour of Sonic, but looking at the replies thusfar I'm a little concerned that Uncharted 4 might get knocked out. Despite being a huge Sonic fan and growing up with a MegaDrive that was almost welded to the Sonic 2 cartridge, my nostalgia cannot suppress my logical reasoning this time. For the sweeping cinematic story and for the simple, chaotic fun of the multiplayer (one of only two online multiplayer modes I've ever played and enjoyed) it's got to be Uncharted 4.

Sonic 2 was my favourite game growing up and I still enjoy playing through it to this day, but Ōkami is such a special game it gets my vote. The best "Zelda clone". I really love how it looks and the story is quite interesting as it is based on Japanese mythology. The battles are great fun once you get into the rhythm and use the celestial brush. The brush in general is a great gameplay innovation and I like how it is used to solve puzzles.
I liked Uncharted 4, but it was really let down by a weak script.
@Octane TP is hours of boring gameplay, though. Cutscenes and dialogue don't bother me nearly as much, as I can just immerse myself in the story. Herding goats, looking for children, and hunting twilight bugs, though? No thanks.
The worst thing about that cutscene is the Animal Crossing-esque gibberish that accompanies the text.
It's funny how the groups can turn out from a personal perspective, groups 1 and 3 are both full of games that I'd vote for if they were up against something else, whereas group 2 is a bit meh and I don't care too much what gets through.
@Wesker@RogerRoger Thanks team. I think @Tasuki had it right in the end. We will run with the polls until the bitter end!
@Gamer83 Nearly all the games in the complete list are worth playing so these battles will get even tougher.
