@AdamantiumClaws Only revealed the five first games, so far. But speculation is fun. And while a Crash game might not be so interesting to those who just bought the remake, I can see Activision being up for it, and it's still cool to play one of those games with the original controller etc.

I wasn't into the new graphics, didn't feel like Crash to me. So I'd love to play the original again.
I’ve not preordered yet but I’m thinking I’ll take the plunge tomorrow. Only having five games confirmed is giving me pause. I would really like both Tomb Raider and FF Tactics to be included. I’ve got PaRappa on PS4 already and SF Alpha 3 on Switch.
Hopefully the Classic is as hackable as the NES/SNES Mini.
I'm predicting:
Abe's Odyssey
Tencu
Tomb Raider
Everybody's Golf
Metal Gear Solid
Chrono Trigger
Medievil
Crash 1
Spyro 1
Resident Evil
Silent Hill
Grand Theft Auto
Parappa the Rapper
Final Fantasy Tactics
And Destruction Derby
@adf86 I would say replace Trigger with Cross (since Trigger was originally a SNES games and was only on the PS as part of the Final Fantasy Anthology set where as Cross was an exclusive). And that's a pretty good guess

@KALofKRYPTON Wouldn't bet on it being there. Like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 it features licensed music (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, etc). Of course that doesn't mean it's impossible, just highly unlikely. (Also, a racing game without local multiplayer doesn't sound right here)
@asdf86 I think they'd rather go for Final Fantasy and Vagrant Story than have two Final Fantasy games on there is my guess.
@Kidfried Sure it makes sense - also, WipEout played an incredibly significant part in PlayStation's success. They could re licence the music, or just go with a few more Cold Storage tunes.
EDIT: Also - the announcement of only 5 games could be because of Sony trying to tie up licencing issues. Actually, I reckon that's very likely!
@Th3solution Yes and no. I mean, it ties in with the questions why Sony made this and who it is for.
@Th3solution Yes and no? I don't really know why they put FF7 on there, as it's available for PS4 as well. And you could argue the same for games like Resident Evil 2, Spyro, Crash, Medievil, Abe's Odyssey, Final Fantasy 9, Parappa, etc.
There's also a lot of lapsed PS gamers, that don't own a console or now own an Xbox or Switch. Sony probably wants to target them as well, and they're going to expect some of those classics.
(Also, the Castlevania port is strange anyway. Sony is working on a PS1 classic, so why even bother cooperating with Konami to get SotN to PS4, instead of having it as a headline act for the PS1 classic.)
@Kidfried It’s an interesting quandary due to their proximity of release, since on one hand you wouldn’t want to cannibalize sales of the Castlevania port by its presence on the Classic, but on the other hand there is probably a slightly different demographic that the Classic is shooting for as opposed to those who will buy a port for their PS4. I’m not sure, but the Castlevania SOTN PS4 port is probably going to look and play very close to the original, with the exception of the DS4 input, addition of trophies, and the overall smoothing and polish of the port being present. Versus the RE2, Spyro, Crash games which are overhauled to a higher extent and would probably offer a different experience to play the PS1 version along side the PS4 version.
But I do think people who are interested to buy a Classic do want SOTN on there, given it is consistently rated one of the console’s best.
I’ll probably buy neither, honestly, because I’m having trouble keeping up with current gen games and my retro gaming is in hibernation for now.

@Th3solution I think with the announcement that Konami and Sony worked on the PS4 Castlevania pack theres pretty good odds that Konami games will be on the PS4 On Classic. I wouldn't be surprised if SotN, Metal Gear and Silent Hill make their way to the PSone Classic.

@Kidfried i don't think they don't care just that there must be a reason there has been no news
