@Ralizah I beat the league with a level 56 Steelix, the rest of the team was dragged along for funsies, but they pulled their weight.
Yeah, I know. It's quite annoying. You're stopped at every route. There's always something going on. The older games had plenty of areas that just let you explore and do your own thing. There was the occasional encounter with an NPC here and there, but it didn't feel like it was distracting from the exploration. But the happy friends club they started doing in BW and XY, yuck! I found the phone calls you got every route in BW pretty annoying too, especially when I got interrupted by that young lady person five steps later anyway.
They're doing all the things I've wanted them to do in a Pokemon game for years and then pulled the guts out of the game to make it something I can't imagine ever wanting to play. First it giveth, then it taketh away.
@KratosMD As soon as I heard the soundtrack I was in. It looks like an incredibly faithful remake, which is what got me.
It’s more my curiosity of seeing a place I loved as a kid reimagined then a need to actually play it.
I wonder what Pokemon will be game exclusive. Both Pikachu & Eevee we’re available in game before (Veridian Forest & Gift from Bill), but it seems like Sandshrew & Vulpix might be two? Think I’ll get whichever one has Mankey .
Good point on the 3rd Pokeball. I’m thinking it’s maybe Clefairy, that the other girl (Gary’s Sister?) picks?

I was optimistic about Pokémon Let's Go when it was first announced, but the E3 gameplay was pretty disappointing. This would have been more promising if they tried to make Kanto a more interesting region to explore considering this is the fifth time they're using it in a game (R/B/Y, G/S/C, FR/LG, HG/SS, and now this game), but the focus is on minor stuff like dressing up your Pokémon and the stupid throwing mechanic for catching wild Pokémon. I don't think most of the changes are really meaningful to the gameplay, and they seem to be trying way too hard to make this game casual friendly when Pokémon has always been really easy. I want to be excited for Let's Go, but I feel like it won't even be as good as Fire Red/Leaf Green which came out over 10 years ago.
@KratosMD Jessie and James being in Let's Go isn't really a surprising feature because they were in Pokémon Yellow.
@Octane Well, I did think that and although I don't have my own Gameboy anymore I did get to try it out on somebody else's around 3 years ago and they were all present and correct which was pretty great to see.
@KratosMD Its cheaper to get Mania and then Plus DLC digitally I believe.
At least in the UK it is. But the physical release does come with some bonus goodies like an art book and such.
Mania has frequent checkpoints, you can restart your game from a save file at the first Act of any given zone, and yes there is autosave, like in Sonic 3.
As for the bonus content in Plus...er….how would we know?
From what they have told us, there is a FREE patch coming that adds the unlockable bonus abilities as options in save file runs, whereas prior it was just in a no-save run. They also modify one of the bosses, add level transitions between each zone now, so on so forth.
The DLC adds 4 player multiplayer, an upgrade from 2, Ray and Mighty as playable characters, new bonus stages, and whatever Encore Mode is. Some weird pallete swap mode where you can have two characters at once that you can swap between. It's been really poorly explained.
Apparently you unlock characters in the bonus stages and swap who is in your pair by breaking certain monitors, and you can switch between your two characters as and when you like? It's weird.

Dana became the Goddess of Evolution, we left the island and the game crashed right before the credits loaded (Seriously). Been to every dungeon except the one that unlocks post game, done all but the obvious last area of the Sanctuary Crypt in the Eternian Era, managed to find but not defeat the superboss in the Silent Tower, and only missing one or two harvests/chests. Oh and a handful of heart to hearts like Ricotta and I think Nia.
Oh and I need to finish feeding Shoebill. So there's that.
But the bulk of the game is done. 97% of the map I think?
@Knuckles-Fajita Side quests seem to be the things that amass most of your reputation.
Anyway, everything I read says the non-definitive endings stop short.
Of course, if I was in your position, I'd just watch it on Youtube or something. I had to do that for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, given the game bugged out after the final boss for me.
@Ralizah The ending seemed definitive. Got epilogues for all the party members, Dana got the ending that kept her promise of parting ways on her terms and being true to herself: Doing stuff with reckless abandon and always watching over the world, and it explained the name of the game, with her new role controlling the Lacrimosa.
So I think that was the definitive ending?

I just finished up Chapter 5 (in YS VIII), but have only 152 or so reputation. I've done every side quest so far, just achieved 90% map completion, and have given every gift I can give at the moment, so hopefully either a ton of quests open up in chapter 6, or I'm missing something...

@Knuckles-Fajita, I currently have 23 castaways. Just rescued Sir Carlan. I think the last one may be in a region just north of the Hall of Kings or whatever that dungeon was called, but last I checked I can't access it. Right now the entire north end of the map is off limits to me as well, to boot.
