@Octane There's button remapping for button controls, but you go full motion when opting for those controls. Also, and this really annoyed me in the demo, the game would switch to motion automatically when it detected movement in the detached joycons.
@Knuckles-Fajita Uncharted, Sonic, and Mega Man have quite good third games, though.
Sonic and Knuckles was always my second favourite after Sonic 2.
Smash 1 was very disappointing to me given how much it had been hyped up. My siblings - who played other multiplayer games with me - weren't interested in it and the single player content was pathetic. So I returned it to Electronics Boutique (this was back when they had their no quibbles 28 day returns) and got Donkey Kong 64 instead.
I always felt that maybe the N64 itself held back Smash somewhat, and the GameCube gave them a lot more freedom. The fact that it was a surprise hit for them surely meant they devoted far more resources to Melee.
My copy of Go Vacation! in today (don't judge, lol).
I've only played around in the Marine Resort so far (you have to unlock the others by trying out activities), but it seems like a decent game so far.
The only activities I've tried so far:
Jet Ski Racing - I liked this one enough, and should be pretty fun in the harder difficulties.
Sky Diving - This is okay, but it's let down by the fact that you have to use gyro to move your character into position (even in handheld mode, which is how I was playing).
Beach Volleyball - This one looks like it could be good, especially with others.
ATV Racing - Like Jet Ski Racing, this one will probably be good when you unlock the harder courses.
Scuba Diving - This one could be relaxing in free play, but I'm not sure how I feel about it's "competitive" mode (you have a certain amount of time to swim around and find X amount of a certain animal).
Surfing - This one could be pretty fun once I get the hang of it, though again, even in portable mode you have to use motion to perform a certain trick.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I always find it interesting to hear what game or games get people to buy into a system. Well a friend of mine is buying a Switch for The World Ends with You.
Even after watching some gameplay I'm not entirely sure what it's about, but he tells me I'd enjoy it. Given we have pretty similar tastes I guess I'll be picking it up at launch.

Shovel Knight, Zero and Rathalos as Assists, a Monster Hunter stage, 34 Castlevania tracks, Alucard assist, Elimination mode where you need to change fighters, another mode where you swap fighters between stocks...
This game is frankly insane.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
I decided to watch the Direct as well (my first one, too). Admittedly I'm feeling the Smash hype. Simon on the roster was long overdue. And I really want that special edition with the Gamecube controller.
@Fight_Teza_Fight The World Ends With You is worth at least one playthrough. I borrowed it 10 years ago and earlier this year I got my own copy and beat it. It's probably my favorite DS game, and one I thought slipped under the radar compared to other Square games (it was even a partial inspiration for my cult classic thread). I recommend you try it, although I'm not sure what to feel about the single screen gameplay. The double screen gameplay of the original was a highlight for me.

So I am wondering if one of the Diablo projects that Blizzard is working on is a Switch Port of Diablo 3. If I am able to transfer my stuff from the PS4 version I would be tempted to get it. D3 on the go....

Not interested in Diablo 3 on Switch tbh. After playing it in 60fps and higher res on pro it's not the kind of game I'd want to play with lower performance, especially considering how many hours I've played it on PS3 and PS4.
It's commendable that they can get certain games running on the Switch hardware but once you've played the PS4 version I (generally) don't see the point in paying a premium for the downgrade. I'm sure I'd feel the same way about some console games if I had a top end PC too.
I say generally, because Skyrim does occasionally sing to me on Switch.
And I do really enjoy how quiet the Switch runs so if there isn't a huge performance disparity im happy to go for the Switch version and not know any better.
@DerMeister That sounds promising! I think I'll keep an eye out for a cheap DS version.

I mean Simon is the last vestige of the NES mascots that wasn't already there so...he was a given. What DOES surprise me is all the Symphony of the Night/Rondo of Blood stuff. That has nothing to do with Nintendo.
Interestingly though, Sakurai could...if he really really wanted to, make a Smash for PlayStation. Sora isn't affiliated in any ownership capacity with Nintendo nor is Sakurai himself, in fact he never was. So if he wanted to after Ultimate, he could bugger off and make a game for whatever he wants.
Given Bandai Namco is co-developing, yeah there is nothing stopping it.
@Knuckles-Fajita If he did a Play-station Allstar game that would be pretty dope. I’d hope he’d ya e a few different ideas for it as opposed to Smash, but even if it wasn’t too different, it’d be too cool to care about how shameless it would be. I’m not normally one for such shamelessness, but I just wouldn’t care this time.
PS4 All-Stars with Aloy, Kratos, Kat, Trico, Geralt, etc. If that was a thing @Shogunrok wouldn't have had to go through the trouble of hosting that silly tournament!
