If Pokemon Switch has any kind of intrusive Pokemon Go integration - and I don't mean a couple of extras, I mean there's Pokemon you can't get without it, or other stuff - then I'm legit selling my Switch.
Sounds like you want to sell it regardless and simply need a reason.
I mean I dont think the system is particularly "good" either but at least it gets some use unlike my 360 did that I sold.
Actually, a little quote for you, as it feels relevant to situation.
You bought a Switch for old games that arent coming, its all old ports and the odd new interesting first party title that you may or may not enjoy.
At this point in the life of a system you can see its path, this is as good as itll get. Plus buying something "hoping" you get what you want isnt too wise, after all:
@Ralizah I have only ever sold one console - well one that I didn't have an alternative version and no intention of replacing - and that was a Nintendo - the Nintendo Virtual Boy. The last console I actually sold though was an Xbox 360 Elite but as I had replaced it with the Xbox 360 Slim (with Kinect), I didn't need 2 360's (3 if I hadn't sold my standard 360 for the Elite). I also traded in my Original Black Xbox for a crystal Xbox (I still have) but those are the only consoles/gaming devices I have sold to date. All my others I still have, gave to my kids or ended up going to the tip.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
@BAMozzy Oh, sure, yeah, I've sold consoles when I've replaced them with something better before. Like I sold my 3DS XL when I upgraded to a New 3DS.
Otherwise, they go into retirement. Some will likely never come out of retirement, like my OG Xbox, which was an awful console with an awful, awful controller (just saw one of those Duke controllers floating around our game room last night as I was cleaning it up). I didn't like the 360 very much, but until I find something else that can play Viva Pinata (besides an Xbone, which I will never buy), I'm not getting rid of it.
@KratosMD Oh, I know. It's not nearly as good as the Xbox games. Believe me, I was ecstatic when I thought there was a full fat Viva Pinata game on the go.
Apparently it released on the PC at some point, but I've never been able to find a copy.
@Ralizah I liked the OG Xbox - was very innovative and the design was unique - not understated at all. The Duke was superb - maybe a bit big but compared to these tiny little hand cramping efforts of the DS, it was a revolution for those of us with 'adult' hands. Its basic design has stayed with us and whilst it has reduced in size, the Xbox controllers are regarded as the best and even copied by Nintendo too. The 360 was a great console as well and its 'flexibility' in the way it was built was what contributed to its success and why games ran better on it too. I know Sony simplified their design for the PS4 and also went bigger than MS on the GPU side which has given them the advantage this generation. I still have my OG Xbox, XB360 Slim (with Kinect), PS3 60GB Phat, PS3 Slim, XB1 (with Kinect), XB1S and OG PS4 as well as the Project Scorpio X and PS4 Pro. I also think I still have a Gameboy Color in the cupboard too but all my other gaming devices were either donated to the kids or scrapped when I downsized to a smaller house.
As I said though, the only console I have sold that I had no intention of replacing is my Nintendo Virtual Boy. That would probably be worth double (or more) today (boxed, as new with a few boxed games and ALL paperwork, etc intact) but that was migraine inducing for me and I couldn't play more than a few minutes without the pain starting.

@Kidfried Same. I've sold every Nintendo console. Except my DSi which I just threw out because I couldn't be bothered to sell it. And my Wii which for some reason I put in a cupboard and then left there for years without realising. I doubt it's worth much.
@johncalmc@Kidfried I have to ask why you two are buying these consoles from this company just to sell them because one or two games aren't worth keeping a system for.
If this keeps happening, why do you keep buying them? Are you aware of the definition of insanity?
I mean it's your money, do what you want with it, but it seems odd to keep buying and selling their systems because you are inevitably dissatisfied.

@BAMozzy The Duke controller was practically a tumor with buttons. I have no idea how anyone plays on that thing. But, you know, some people find the Switch joycon controllers to be horrendously cramped, and I adore those little things. So comfy to hold (sans the straps; I found the straps make them a tad too wide). And I have reasonably large hands.
As to the console itself... I didn't like the OS, and the library... it had some good games, like the best version of Silent Hill 2, and KOTOR, but overall I wasn't a huge fan. Almost all of the best Japanese games were on Playstation at the time.
Xbox 360 was better and, weirdly, had the best line-up of JRPG's last gen, with well-received titles like Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia. Early on, it also had a way better library than the PS3. Unfortunately, most of its "exclusives" went to PS3 over time, while we never got any of the really cool exclusives from that console. So, by the end of the generation, its library was a bit pitiful when compared to the PS3.
I don't regret owning one, though. The first two Viva Pinata games are brilliant. Alan Wake was a great console exclusive, and I still really like the first Gears of War.
I hate the Xbox controller layout, unfortunately, and hate even more that Nintendo has taken after their style of controller design, as I find that the D-Pads on them are much less comfortable to use than they are on DualShock controllers.
And yeah, the Virtual Boy was ill-conceived from the get-go. Truly one of the worst consoles ever made.

The only Nintendo game I remember really playing and enjoying on the 3DS was Fire Emblem: Awakening. It was third-party other than that. Samurai Warriors: Chronicles and Rune Factory in particular.
Wait, Kid Icarus: Uprising was really good too. So Nintendo games. I know there a lot more I liked too.
Let it said those Wii U ports that are overpriced and no one will want to buy seem to continually surpass sales of their Wii U versions.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe outsold Mario Kart 8's lifetime sales in just under a year.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze has outsold the prior release on Wii U in Japan in two weeks and in the UK is already accounting for a large portion of total sales.
Splatoon 2 (A sequel but meh semantics) has outsold lifetime sales of Splatoon in under a year.
Pokken Tournament DX has outsold Pokken Tournament.
And Hyrule Warriors releases today!
This trend has to break at some point right?

@YummyHappyPills I can't speak for @Kidfried but I think you're misunderstanding my position on this. I'm not buying them and then finding out they suck and then selling them. I'm buying them knowing full well what I want out of them, getting it, and then selling them. I've never been disappointed with a Nintendo console except for the Wii U which was a pile of hot garbage, but even then I didn't begrudge buying it because I really liked the few games I played on it before I shipped it off.
So inevitably I'll end up selling the Switch at some point, once I've had my fill and once there aren't enough interesting games on the horizon to warrant it having a place under my TV. But I probably won't be thinking, "Well, this was a waste of money." I'll have played Zelda, and Mario (which actually was disappointing), and presumably Metroid, Pokemon, and whatever else, and then I'll get rid.
Funny. 3DS is one of my all-time favorite systems, up there with the first two Playstation consoles.
GameCube might squeeze into a top ten systems list, but N64... yuck. Worst system I've ever owned. And I'm including the OG Xbox when I say that.
@YummyHappyPills Not sure why you're shocked that exclusives on an unpopular console sell better once they're ported to a much more popular console that has already outsold its predecessor by a few million units.

@YummyHappyPills It'll get decent Japanese third party support, which is all that matters to me.
It's never good for the big Western franchises to skip a platform, of course, but I already ignore those games on PS4, so it doesn't really impact my opinion of the system's library.
It could be much better, of course, but getting stuff like Y's VIII, Octopath Traveler, Valkyria Chronicles 4, etc. is a good start.
