I just finished playing some MW2 online on PS3 , and just wow. you just boot the game up and jump right in ; no s*** shoved in your face or moving backgrounds that just burn up your console and slow things down , no battle-pass crap and gigabyte wasters , no cutscenes that nobody cares about because most people dont play campaign anyway , loading from lobby to next in-game match is so quick . its so simple yet effective even today & the maps and pace of matches are frickin amazing. MW2019 doesn't hold a candle to this game.

i cant wrap my head around why they just wont look at this game and what it did right and just copy the same s*** to current gen without all the unnecessary fluff . well i know why actually - the people that made this masterpiece , including MW1 , BO1/BO2 are all either fired or gone .

it was fun revisiting a dead game though , i'd play more if it wasn't 2 generations old .

@nomither6 Honestly, I think it's just a testament of where we are now in the gaming industry right now. It's a common thing for companies now to constantly update their games because they want you to stick with them. While back then, they were releasing games much more frequently so they wanted you to instead move on to their next title. Granted, CoD is still seeing yearly releases but I think Activision realises that they need to do what other companies are doing in order to keep players locked to their games.

Anyway, I've been going back and forth between PS3/360 games and PS4/Xbox One games these past months and it's crazy to me how much simpler even the PS3/360 titles were. I played through the MW trilogy this past year and it's really quick and easy to start up the games and start playing. I can't imagine how it would be like to play Black Ops Cold War, which apparently is 100-200 GB or something like that? I don't think I'll ever play that game because of that. Coincidentally, I've been actually in a mood lately to play the first Black Ops on 360 since I haven't played that game yet. Considering how highly regarded it is as well as how simple it would be to just boot up the game and play I might give it a go very soon.

I've got like six Call of Duty games I've never even started. I've got three of them twice because they ended up coming to PS Plus. Absolute madness.

I tried MW2 on my PS4. To tell the truth, the previous part's still my fav one. And the plot of MW1's so exciting. I guess the developers didn't try hard creating the second part. It really looks like a cheap imitation of the original. At least the basic game functions haven't changed. And you can still use the call of duty modern warfare cheats. I don't really understand why companies today want to make more and more games without thinking about the quality. The originality's getting worse every year, IMHO. And it's not only about the CoD.

@starwender was talking about multiplayer . & i’m the complete opposite about the campaign , mw2 was way more memorable for me - going to war in front of the white house and then storming inside to shoot it out , the blackout sequence when the whole city/world went dark , no russian , burger town & going to war in a neighborhood in-and-out of houses was so memorable for me.

only thing that intrigued me from MW1 was all ghillied up .
