Got it and so far I'm having mixed feelings about it. If you are a fanatic of raw FPS then this is your game, but for me it is too much focused on combat, in fact it seems to be focused only in combat. Is not that you have combats mixed with some adventuring, is that you have combat all the time with many weapons and many ways to kill, but adventuring, exploration and side quests seem to be missing.
I've quite enjoyed it so far but also have some reservations. As the first FPS on the dual stick handheld, I'd been looking forward to it for a while but was somewhat put off by the negative reviews. I took a chance and I'm reasonably satisfied. Its proof that the Vita is a more than capable platform for FPS games. Its also probably the best handheld FPS I've played but then considering the competition, that isn't saying much.
I was disappointed by the graphics. They fall well below the standards set by Uncharted, Wipeout etc and other launch games. The game plays reasonably well but certainly doesn't feel comparable to a home console game of this type. Perhaps that criticism is harsh but since the Vita is marketed as delivering a console comparable experience on the go, then thats how its games are going to be judged. Perhaps most disappointing is that I've been unable to access online multiplayer due to my wireless router being incompatible. Hopefully a patch is in the works to solve this.
In short, its a better game than some reviews have portrayed but its not without its flaws.
I'm about 20mb short of the download and refuse to remove anything I hope they announce a 64gb memory stick at E3 or something lol.
To save our Mother Earth from any alien attack
From vicious giant insects who have once again come back
We'll unleash all our forces we won't cut them any slack
The EDF deploys!!
Short, very short game, less than 7 hours. Another waste of money
7 hours of single player seems like a good portable game to me. I can name a very particular best selling game series that doesn't last half that time
I heard the multiplayer is a lot of fun. If I can finish Persona 3 this weekend (finish persona? lolwut) I'd like to throw it on my card and see how it is myself. Or break down and buy a physical copy.

Havent tried MP yet, but for me 7 hours is too short (specially when there is no replay value at all). I dont differentiate between portable or non portable games when it comes to play time.
I've snatched around 15 minutes to play it so far. As an initial impression, I'd say my main feeling is that it could be better. That's not to say it's bad particularly but there is a certain lack of polish there. Graphically the game is a little dull, it could absolutely look a lot better. There's a nice weight to your movement but I had to ramp the look sensitivity right up, and could do with being a little more so. So far not a huge fan of any of the touch implementation besides double tapping the rear panel to run and swiping to load the crossbow. But like I say, very early days and I'vonly played for a few minutes, of those few minutes, I'd give it as mediocre a review as I've seen elsewhere but not as low as some. It's not blowing me away, but I'm sure I'll enjoy a full playthrough and a spot of MP.

I'm about to finish level 2, and loving it, No where as bad as reviews are saying. spent a couple of hours online playing MP and its more additive than mario tennis (which is great) I'm playing it on hard and its about right, expect for the lack of check points, one death sends you back a good 10 mins, apart from that its ok
Just finished the bridge and on to the SRPA facility. I will say, this is worth playing, if you like fps and Resistance at all, give it a go. It's rough around the edges but it's a game I think will grow on you.
One of the 'rough around the edges' things is the sparse use use of the score, a lot of the game is too quiet other than your footfalls. What I would suggest is using your own soundtrack. I've played the last level or so with the (excellent) score from Prometheus, it occasionally matches on screen events but it's just nice to have some good atmospheric music playing. I'm going to throw together a full custom soundtrack for it later. Music from Predator, Terminator, RoboCop, Aliens and Prometheus! Bring a touch of audible epic to proceedings!

Platinumed Resistance. Doubt I played it for more than 5 hours in total. An easy Platinum too. Definitely too short.
As handheld game should be; short and good multiplayer. I think its okay to have a game with several hours in length especially for a FPS on Vita. The game looks decent as well; keep in mind the Vita has been out for only 4 months in the US. Thats not bad if you think about it. Next years games will use more juice from the Vita. As a home console standpoint, look at the graphics; the latest generation of games are loads better than the launch games.

DAM that last boss is a pain in the bum, my vita needs a wrist strap, I nearly threw it a couple of times......I did the whole game on hard, but had to knock the diff down to normal for the last boss!
