As the title suggests. List your top 10 games, from any genre and any platform.
In no particular order;
1. Final Fantasy 7 (PS One) - Obviously! Story, characters, visuals (at the time), musical score, materia combat system, side quests etc... this game holds some wonderful memories
2. Shenmue (DC) - This game was years ahead of it self. One amazing, immersive adventure built in a world where you are "suppose" to avenge your father, but most of the time ended up and the plaza arm wrestling and gambling your winnings away at the casino!
3. Diablo 2 (PC) - The first ARPG I played when I got DEEP into PC gaming, I arrived to the party late, but this game still took hold of me and I sunk countless hours trying to cleanse the Halls of Sanctuary.
4. Metal Gear Solid (PS One) - The start of the best game series. The first taste of MGS I got was based on a Demo Disc (from Silent Hill I think) as a kid I must of put around 20 hours just into the demo alone MGS went a little crazy over the years ("fisson mailed" for example) but Hideo Kojima managed to tie it up wonderfully with no#4. Epic.
5. Zelda: Majoras Mask (N64) - It was always a toss up between "Ocarina of Time" or this one... whilst they are both classics; this one tops it because of the unique play on time... & the masks ofcourse.
6. SOS: The Final Escape (PS2) - Picked this up when I was younger on a market, apprently it was quite a rare game in this country, regardless it is an epic one! A story interesting enough it wants you to keep playing whilst you are in the middle of a collapsing city built on the ocean. The aim is to survive - Earthquakes, Tsunamis, corprate slaves etc... I still own it
7. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (XBOX) - I bought this when I was younger, not knowing anything about ES. WOW! This for me is still the best Elder Scrolls around. The PC mod community have done wonderful things with this game!
8. Thrasher: Skate & Destroy (PS One) - Yep, I continued to play this game for many years. I got it on my shelf, I sometimes feel like firing it up today! I thought, compared to Tony Hawks, this was a lot more realistic & since I used to skateboard anyway, I could appreciate the difficulty of the game.
9. Forbidden Siren 2 (PS2) - Good survival horror game with (then) a unique art style, lots of re-playability, trying unlock all of the story.
10. Ico (PS2) - Ico, what an experience, I could not put it down when I first picked it up.
Honourable Mention - Pokemon: Crystal (GBC) - Pokemon was really popular when I was a kid. Thankfully the games were really good too!
Truth be told, I have played and love many games, but these are the ones that really stand out, although I am sure I missed some off.
Would love to hear the Push Square Communities "Top 10 - Any format"
Currently Playing: ---> MGS V: PP (PS4) - Until Dawn (PS4) - Dota 2 (PC) & Loads of Indies! (long live the Indies)

"remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
1) Bioshock(Xbox 360 then again on PS3) This to me was a game changer. It created a new idea on how a story could be told in a video game 2) MGS3 Snake Eater (PS2) This game had it all. Great story, great characters and the graphics and gameplay were perfect. Also it was not too cut scene heavy. 3) Final Fantasy 7 (PS on the PSP) I did not play this game until 2007! I was not into RPG when this first came out but when the option rose for me to play PSone games on my PSP, I thought I'd give it ago. It is a very solid game, especially for its time 4) Windwaker (GameCube) I only brought a Gamecube a year before the Wii came out and this is one of the games I fell in love with. It was how happy the game felt even though it was a dangerous adventure. And the music was just brill! 5) Crash Bandicoot 3 (PSone) I remember taking a day of school just to play this :/ 6) Persona 4 Golden (PSVita) one I missed on PS2 but gave it a go on the Vita. A fantastic game with great gameplay and music. Might give Persona 3 a go next 7) Monkey Island 3 (PC) Another great game from my childhood. I remember beating the game on the hardest mode. This was a time when I could not just hop on the next to find the answer. I had to work them out for myself. 8) Patapon Series (PSP) hard to say which I like the most but I am still hoping for Patapon 4 9) We Love Katamari (PS2) if you have never heard of this game do yourself a favour and youTube it. You will NOT be disappointed 10) Batman Arkham Asylum (PS3) huge Batman fan & when I first played this I was blown away. Still after the two extra Arkham games, the first is still the best.
There you have it. I know that some are only from two generations ago but these are the ones that have stuck in my mind and made an impact on my current gaming choices
FF7 MGS Dragon Quest 8 FF9 MGS3 GTA Vice City The Last of Us Fallout 3 Devil May Cry 3 Uncharted 2
Wont go into detail, couldnt be bothered =P But ive played each one many times, and they were always a blast. So many more could have been named! Hard to pick 10!
Wow this is going to be hard but let's see if I can do it. I am sure this will change but here we go
1. World of Warcraft -- While I dont classify myself as a fanboy I do play my share of WoW about 8 hours a week. I love the lore behind it most of all and the fact that it is an growing world just amazes me. Its interesting to see how far the game has come both story and system ways. I still enjoy this game as much as the first day I started it.
2. Mega Man 2 (NES) -- Yep we are going there. No game on the NES can I still pick up and play as much as this game. Seriously I can't even begin to count how many time I have bought this game and what formats. Yeah I know everyone says its their favorite Mega Man game but I just can't help feeling like a 10 year old everytime I here that title screen music.
3. The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past (SNES) -- My favorite Zelda of all time. There is just something about this game the exploration the music the graphics are all just perfect for this game. Yeah I know other Zeldas have come along but like Mega Man 2 this is one I can play over and over again.
4. Tekken 3 (PS) -- My favorite fighting game series of all. Tekken 3 is my favorite of the series cause it was the one I mastered. At one time I was nearly unbeatable. My favorite tactic was playing against Eddy Gordo "masters" in the arcade using King. So many would laugh and think they had the upper edge cause of Eddy that was untill I would let them exhaust themselves and then break out the combos with King. Trapfighting at its best.
5. Smash TV (Arcade) -- My god I can't even begin to count how many quarters I pumped into this machine at my local arcade. I probably would be a millionaire by now lol. This game has been ported to alot of systems but there is just something about playing it in the arcade. BIG MONEY! BIG PRIZES! I LOVE IT!
6. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS) -- Honestly I was never a fan of the Castlevania series before this game, I played a few of them when I was younger but I just couldn't get into them, then there was this game. I loved the who metroidvania style of gameplay I loved the characters loved the music. The story was great too. I still play this game from time to time.
7. Metal Gear Solid (PS) -- This game blew my mind when my friend first showed me it. I wll admit I couldn't get into the other MS games but this one I can play over and over again I think it has to do how revolutionary it was for its time. This will probably be one of the first games I get on Playstation Now.
8. Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) -- Yep that one. I couldn't believe the first time I saw this game back in issues of the Nintendo Power and then in the movie the Wizard. It pushed the limits of the NES and it still looks just as gorgeous to this day. I actually prefer this one over Mario World. The level designs the amount of suits, and of course the Kooplings. Still one of my favorite NES games to this day.
9. Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) -- I have to add this one cause its the best GTA game to date. I honestly didn't like a GTA game since Vice City but this one OMG. The story was as good as any Hollywood film, the graphics were the best I have seen in a long time and the sheer size of the city OMG. Not only that but the linear gameplay was just pure fun for me. It's a shame that GTA Online was a failure.
10. Resogun (PS4) -- Yep I had to add this one. I have been a fan of shoot em ups back in the NES days. Playing most of them in the arcades and at home. I honestly didn't play one in years since I played Resogun. This one just blew my mind. A free game as good as a retail game? The music is some of the best I ever heard, and I love the fact that the levels are cylindrical. This is my favorite launch game for the PS4.
Well that is them for now I am sure that they will change here at some point.

I'd need to really think about the others.
Ah ha what a scandal. The top three favorite games of a Playstation fan site founder are two Nintendo games and a Sega game. Shame on you Sammy.

I saw a similar thread not too long ago at Nintendo Life and as I commented there, I can't really do a top 10 of all time because there's just so many to factor in. I can put my top two though because I don't think they'll ever change. That would be Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES) Thunder Force IV (MegaDrive) Star Wars: Rogue Leader (GameCube) Gradius V (PS2) R-Type II (Amiga) Starlancer (DC) Ape Escape (PS1) Warhawk (PS3) Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) Unreal Tournament (PC)

@SuperSilverback - Dragon Quest 8 I still own that game, awesome JRPG.
@Tasuki - Some awesome games, especially 4. 5. & 8. BIG MONEY! BIG PRIZES! I LOVE IT. I used to love WoW, but... well we won't go there.
I could do a top 20 tbh... But I won't, although I got another idea. Soemone else can start it though if they want. Basically; Favourite game from each genre - All platforms

I love doing lists of my favourite games, but they often change from time to time. However, I recentely noticed that my top 5 favourite games of all time probably won't change and they are:
1- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64 and 3DS). It was my first Zelda experience and I absolutely loved every second of it. I bought the 3DS just to play the remake and I never regreted it, because, for me, it is a perfect game. 2- The World Ends With You (DS). Love the style of the game, and specially its soundtrack. The story is great and the battle system is really interesting. One of the few games that I play a bit almost every year. 3- Metal Gear Solid (PC, PSOne and GC). I first played MGS on PC and loved it! I didn't know what to expect because I didn't follow any gaming related sites or magazines at the time and was amazed at how good the game was. After I got my PSOne, I rented it and replayed it and I bought it again on the Wii, thanks to the backwards compatibility to GC games and I still enjoyed it a lot. 4- Chrono Trigger (SNES and DS). I loved it on the SNES and I think its story, art style and sound track are really great! The DS version is just as good and reminded me why I love this game so much. 5- Persona 4 Golden (Vita). A recent game that got my attention like no other last year. The story is great and I love it a lot. It will probably go up, as my second playthrough is showing me a lot more to do and love about the game.
Theses 5 games are my favourite of all time because I enjoyed them a lot and still have a blast when I play them to this day.
As for my other 5 favourite games of all time, I can't choose specific games, but I can pick series that I always enjoy, varying which one is the best of that series. Having said that, my other 5 favourite games (series) are:
- Super Mario. Love all of them, but if I had to choose one today, it probably would be Super Mario World as it was my first and only game I had on the SNES for a looong time. - Final Fantasy. I haven't played FF II or the online ones. From the main series that I played there isn't one that I haven't enjoyed, but my favourite is actually a spin-off, Crisis Core: FF VII (PSP), because it was the one that moved me the most. - Donkey Kong Country. Love all of them, and the first one to come on the SNES was my second game on that system. I love it the most, although, the recent DKC Returns made a very good impression, specially its 3DS remake. - Metroid. I series that I haven't played a lot, but enjoyed all the ones I did play. I enjoyed even Other M, which was the most divise entry in the series. However, my favourite is Metroid: Zero Mission on the GBA. - Street Fighter. The first game that made love the fighting genre (SF II) and the one that made enjoy the genre again after a really long dry spell (SF IV), so it really is tied between the two.
@Beaston61: I don't know genre is such a broad category nowadays. Take Zelda games for example alot of people classify them as RPGs even though technically they are not RPGs they are action/adventure games. Same goes with the Metroidvania style of Castlevania games.
I will admit it was hard for me to choose 10 and if I were to be asked that again in a month I am sure it will change. I would probably have an easier time doing a top 20 or even a top 50 but I don't have the time for that lol.

As much as I tried, I honestly could not give a brief reason as to why I loved each game so much. 1. Mass Effect 2 (PC) 2. Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) 3. Portal 2 (PS3) 4. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS3/PC) 5. Bioshock (PC) 6. The Last of Us (PS3) 7. Persona 4 Golden (Vita) 8. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) 9. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves(PS3) 10. Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3)
@Beaston61 My uncle bought it accidentaly with a bunch of other games when he was on the states so it ended up with me xD Glad I got it before the stock shortage in the US or otherwise I wouldn't be able to play such a masterpiece, even thought I gotta admit I kinda thought it was a bit bad at the beginning.
1. Fallout 3 (xbox 360) 2. GtA San Andreas (PS2) 3. The Last of Us (PS3) 4. Shenmue 2 (XBox) 5. Mario 2 (NES) 6. COD 4 (Xbox 360) 7. Resident Evil 3 (PS1) 8. Road Rash (Sega) 9. Doom (PC) 10. NBA Jam (Sega)
I have to add 1 more lol...
11. Star Wars KOTOR (XBox)
