@JohnnyShoulder Foden’s wasted at Man City. A player that good and it’s almost like they don’t even need him. 20 years ago he’d be a Joe Cole at West Ham, a lynchpin of an up and coming team that could make a good go of it before moving to a top top team once he’d got that experience. These days if you come through an academy at a Prem team then you run the risk of being a great player but competing against players that the club’s paid a packet for and need to justify their investment.
Great return to club football so far. Happy for Richarlison. Turned into Brazilian Ronaldo for like the last 10mins.
Still not the fan of the added stoppage time. By the time Spurs v Sheffield finished the Newcastle game was coming on.
Speaking of Newcastle they don’t look great, but neither do AC Milan. Battle for Europa League spot.

Great result yesterday. Richarlison’s cameo off the bench was brilliant. Hopefully he’ll kick on from here now!
@Fight_Teza_Fight The extra time does take the piss a bit but considering Sheffield United were adamant to waste time from the beginning of the game, the twelve minutes of extra time was warranted. I do agree that it’s a farce.
Not as big a farce as the officiating though. My god. That was the worst refereeing I’ve seen in a long time!

Only just tuned in to the last half an hour of the Bournemouth v Chelsea game. Bournemouth creating great chances. Would love to see them go on and win this.
Would love an Everton win later too but sadly, I think Arsenal will prevail.

Celtic getting two red cards in five minutes is hilarious! 😂😂

The highlight of the night is definitely Lazio's keeper scoring a 95th minute equaliser. That's brilliant. 😂

@Thrillho Yeah, a proper striker's run! Totally unmarked too!

@JohnnyShoulder It’s injuries more than anything, half the first team is out to the point we’re having guys make their Champions League debut that shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team.
I've just remembered they're changing the UCL format next season. I don't know the finer details of it and I'm unsure if the change was even necessary. Time will tell, I suppose.

@KAIRU Basically more teams which therefore means more games. I imagine teams competing in it will either drop out of the League Cup or field a team of moudly youngsters.

@JohnnyShoulder It’s a hard one because there was a period where we were pretty good in Europe, especially at home. Rodgers feels like a big step backwards compared to Ange, we’re already out of the league cup and the football just hasn’t been fun to watch. Hoping he gets booted sooner rather than later, which is mad considering during his first tenure he won 7 out of 7 domestic trophies he competed in which ended up a quadruple treble. I’d stick it down to the highers up not really having a plan, our transfers have been incredibly disappointing given how much we got for Jota, I don’t get why we go for 6 guys worth a million or two when we could sign someone that would actually improve the first team. Sure, we could end up with another Van Dijk, or even a Dembele or Edouard, but those chances are very slim.
@JohnnyShoulder It's just money, I think. More matches added to the schedule is just hectic.

@nessisonett I don't think that's down to Rodgers but more an indication of the money and status of other leagues these days. There is more competition from outside of Scotland as more clubs/leagues have more money and even in Scotland, Rangers are 'back' in the top flight.
There are more clubs now with 'money' to outbid Celtic, Rangers etc in the Transfer window. Even the EPL, it seems more 'teams' are able to buy players to try and compete in the EPL too. Those VVD, Dembele or Edouard type players are being bought by the likes of Brighton, Brentford etc and these teams probably get more 'money' coming in for TV rights etc than the Scottish league teams as the League maybe doesn't have the same Global TV audience as the English, French, German, Spanish, Italian etc leagues.
Things can ebb and flow of course, but it seems that since Rangers were kicked out of the Top flight, Scottish football has 'declined' - some may attribute that to the league being 'boring' with only 1 team clearly above the rest and expected to win 'everything' and of course, Scotland as a National team too were at a low point. Players maybe want to play in more 'competitive' leagues and/or leagues that get more coverage in their country, as well as more teams able to 'compete' for their signature. MLS and Saudi Pro League too can't help as they take some of the 'older' players, so these 'big' teams will replace with 'younger' players, paying more money than Celtic can.
It can't be easy to sign those type of players when other teams are also looking for those players to 'compete' in higher profile leagues, compete in terms of transfer fees and salaries etc when more and more teams are in better financial and/or higher profile Televised leagues.
