Can’t believe the Snyder Cut’s happening. HBO Max are really stepping up their game.

@LN78 I actually really enjoyed Batman vs Superman on a second watch, you can tell that if he wasn’t bound by the studio then it would have been a winner. I think this has some great potential, especially if they go down the miniseries route because 4 hours is rather long and it worked for The Hateful Eight.

@RogerRoger As an animal lover, I’m sure you’ll get some enjoyment out of it. So don’t avoid the film if it seems to interest you. Like I say, it’s worth a watch. But it’s the type of movie that would be a good stream on a lazy weekend when it inevitably lands on Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, or Hulu. I couldn’t wait for that so I paid the $2 rental fee and it was definitely worth that just to see Ford.

My biggest concern about the Snyder Cut is how it will impact my Push Square profile picture. If this becomes the defacto version, people will forget 'tache Supes and that would invalidate my whole online persona.

@Th3solution Whoa, $2 did say? Watch you don't go too crazy there with such an extravagant purchase!

Apparently the 4K blu ray is supposed be something special, but I can only get it on a peasant blu ray, so i think it is one of these titles that is only available on 4K on import.

@LN78 I can only think it is a similar issue with something like Hustlers in that the distributor for the film has decided not to release the 4K blu ray to these shores.

@Rudy_Manchego Your Avatar can be a permanent reminder of what happened, and the very least of the problems with that film.

@JohnnyShoulder Problem? Moustache gate was the best bit. Makes me feel better about buying the blu ray.

If the new cut turns out to be worse then I will change my avatar to that!

I’ve now watched the first 3 Fast and Furious movies in 3 nights and they really aren’t bad at all. Enjoyable fluff and really capture a period in time with a great/hilarious soundtrack. It’s kinda funny cause by all accounts, the next 5 movies take a drastic turn towards Michael Bay action movies despite the first one being essentially Point Break with cars instead of surfing.

@nessisonett Yeah they are kind of my guilty pleasure. Some may turn their snooty high brow noses at them, but taken for what they are, you can find some enjoyment out of them.

@Arugula @JohnnyShoulder Yeah, all 3 have been pretty good for different reasons. Tokyo Drift in particular was maybe my favourite, despite having nothing to do with the first two. I really liked the racing in that one but I love Initial D so it was pretty much a Western version of that. They toned down the G force effects as well and I appreciated the drifting compared to the drag racing of the earlier ones.

The only core Fast & Furious films I've seen are the first three as well, though I've somewhat recently seen the Hobbs & Shaw spinoff and I find it bizarre how a series of relatively grounded films about underground street racing evolved into films where they're saving the world from a superhuman cyborg. It's just unreal that it's all part of the same continuity, as it's fundamentally something different to what it started as.

Has anyone seen Excalibur? I just ordered it for £2 as I heard it inspired Berserk (partially), which was in turn partial inspiration for the Dark Souls games.

@Draco_V_Ecliptic Yeah I love it but its an odd film. No huge budget and very 80’s but also quite distinct and inspired a lot of films after...

I watched the 4th Fast and Furious, confusingly titled Fast & Furious or even F4st & Furious depending on where you are in the world. It wasn’t as good as the first 3, just didn’t have the same element of fun as it was a bit more grounded. I’ve heard the next one’s great as The Rock is finally coming into the series. I really wanna smell what the Rock is cooking.
