@Jimmer-jammer man sorry to hear all that.
if is any help then please know that the people here will always lend an ear to you.
the comunity as a whole can be a hectic bunch but the forums will always be here for those that need to be listened to. stay strong.
@TheBrandedSwordsman I only read bits of the women’s match and saw some of the wickets and shots on Twitter. Frustrating for them to be outdone by the weather!
As for the weekend, my parents and in laws are down and we’re all going to Cornwall for a few days for a trip rolled over from the same time last year. Monday looks an utter write off for the weather but looking forward to it and to my first surf in ages!
@Jimmer-jammer Reading between the lines, it sounds like a rough time and not something you want to be revisiting but it’s good to hear you’ve got that support around you. All the best for what can’t be an easy time.
@Jimmer-jammer That sounds really hard to deal with man, from what i can imagine, from what you've said, I wish you all the best and hope that you can pull through it 100% and go on to greater strengths as a person in the future, through dealing with these issues and experiences now.

@Jimmer-jammer sorry to hear about everything buddy, if I’d known I certainly wouldn’t have been bothering you with my pointless ashen-updates etc. Youre a valued member of this community and I always look forward to hearing your thoughts on things. My thoughts and wishes are with you.
@TheBrandedSwordsman Doing well. I have been busy with work and a little bit of family matters, but hope to get some gaming in finally. I started Returnal and trying to decide whether to finish A Plague Tale or wait for the PS5 version in 2 weeks. If I table it for later, then I might start another low key game since Returnal is eating my lunch so far.
I’ll probably watch some NBA playoffs too. It’s turning out to be an interesting year and it looks like we’ll probably have an NBA champ who has never been champion before, which is nice to see. There are too many dynasties in the NBA.

@Jimmer-jammer There is no shame in keeping private things private. Not everyone is comfortable in sharing those things on a forum, so do not feel guilty or pressurised into doing so. No one is gonna think anything less of you if you decide not to. You talk when you are ready to talk and only reveal what you are comfortable doing.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Apologies for the late reply but I didn't get a whole lot of relaxing done over the weekend @TheBrandedSwordsman.
Usually I'd be winding down a little bit by now but instead I've been a little bee with a fair amount lesson planning for this week's numerous subjects and the amount of stuff I need to teach.
Had a couple of meetings with my colleagues and boss over what might happen over the next few weeks... Not to mention a couple of other things happening on my end that has kept me on my toes 😁
@colonelkilgore How did Father's Day go? Did your dad like the cigars? How is the missus doing now?

@Th3solution How did the "dynasties" in the NBA come about?

@TheBrandedSwordsman yeah he seemed pretty happy mate, he smoked a couple while I was up there.
The missus is struggling a bit but she’ll get through it. This particular period of stress at work happens three times per year and it never gets any easier for her. Trouble is, this time it’s exacerbated by our upcoming house move and a serious illness in our immediate family. Hopefully I’m helping as much as I can but it’s tough to tell.
@TheBrandedSwordsman Well, by “dynasties” I mean that they won several championships in a row or within a handful of years. For some reason in basketball it’s been a lot easier to dominate the league with the right team of players. One or two players make such a huge difference in the NBA where each team only has five players on the court at a time, so it’s just easier for one or two players to carry a whole team, even if the people around them aren’t very good. That’s how you get Michael Jordan’s Bulls winning something like 6 championships of 9 years I think, or something like that. And lately it’s been LA Laker (first with Kobe and now Lebron), Heat (with Lebron and Wade), Spurs (with Duncan), GS Warriors (with Steph Curry)… so each of those MVP type players can almost single handedly carry the team.
….Almost.
So, the dynasties are usually built with one dominant player, who attracts a side kick (or two) who is a second tier excellent player who just is not quite good enough to be the alpha but joins the coattails of the first guys. Then that’s all you really need and the other players just have to be average or above average and you end up with the makings of a dynasty as long as they stick together. Which, often after they win one championship, then a third guy who’s good but not good enough to carry a team himself will jump on board and try to get to that team and it further strengthens the dynasty (see Kevin Durant joining Steph and the Warriors a few years ago and making them laughably super eminent for a few years.
This year, thankfully the teams are all fresh blood that are left with players who’ve not ever won a championship. Steph, KD, and Lebron have all been beaten by now.
