@nessisonett Maybe they need the extra development time to ensure they get the right level of weirdness to Henry Cavil's upper lip to accurately match the movie.
@BearsEatBeets Wouldn't have that shown up at the last Xbox event though? Not that I pay close attention to X box these days, but i thought the show next month was all about first party stuff?

@JohnnyShoulder I thought they were doing something every month and the first -party one was in August so they could show up in July. I'm not totally sure that's right either but something like that.
Also, anyone seen the news apparently AT&T own WB Interactive and are looking to sell it off? Maybe that's connected to not seeing stuff. Let's hope Sony opens it's cheque-book if true.
@Arugula I feel like being able to upvote comments under articles doesn't help to discourage the sort of groupthink that plagues online social media discussion. I imagine people with dissenting viewpoints post something, don't get any attention, and think "what's wrong with me?"
At least the downvoting function was nerfed. THAT was just ripe for abuse and dogpiling.

@Ralizah I’m so happy you can’t upvote your own comments now. Although, it was kinda funny to see someone post something controversial/ranty and it would immediately have 1 heart. Like, if you really care that much about how many likes you have, you’ve already lost any semblance of credibility.
@nessisonett God, people could upvote their own comments? I think I'd rather my every comment be resigned to "zero likes purgatory" forever than do something like that.
Even if nobody else knew...
...I'd know that little number next to the heart was a lie.
At least there aren't any comment threads on here, and comments aren't made more visible because of their upvotes. Social media-wise, I hate how Reddit literally hides your comment if you get mass-downvoted. I don't think it's happened to me, but I detest how it's the text equivalent of getting shouted down.

@RogerRoger Less "epic review" and more "walls of text nitpicking about the issues I have with the game's mechanical balancing." It was a fun game, though.
I don't recall: have you played TW3? I feel like I'm one of the few people here who hadn't played that.
I'm doing alright. Just needed some distance to re-orient my frame of mind. I think it's easy to worry about things that don't really matter in the grander scheme of things.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy The write-up is a little anemic when compared to what I was originally going for, believe it or not (I think I shortened it by 1000 words of so in the process of tightening the scope), since I'm planning on posting shorter reviews more frequently in the future.
It's good to be back!
And yeah, I change the avatar temporarily any time I become aware of someone on the forum playing DR1 for the first time. I don't know what is or isn't going to spoil someone who is initially playing it, so I choose to play it safe.
Sounds good on tightening up the reviews @Ralizah (Which reminds me I need to look at that GunVolt one of yours as well (Not to mention finish up the bumper collection of smaller reviews of mine, I've been so scatterbrained lately ))
Ahh that's fair enough regarding the avatar... Makes sense.
DOOM 64 is pretty good. I've played four levels and had a little look at the 5th.
I'm already enjoying it more then the other older DOOM(/s) thanks to the atmosphere (Not to mention the numerous small quality of life features in this rather then an aged PS1 port)
I genuinely got a little creeped out at one point thanks to the music and wearing headphones.
I think I'm gonna save it for a later point in time though

I wish we did have ports of the PS1 versions as they were easily some of the best conversions ever made of the originals. Doom 1 and 2 on the PS3 and PS4 are both ports of the original PC version unfortunately. Still fun to play though. I'll have to try out Doom 64 one day.
I've actually only played the PS1 version of DOOM/DOOM 2 @LieutenantFatman so I only bits on bobs on how it differs to the original pc release. Definitely fun but I do appreciate quick saves I can potentially utilise, not to mention save slots in general!
DOOM 64'd probably be a good potential title for the game club somewhere down the line

Oh yes, I forgot how many PS1 games didn't give you the option to save your game! Much easier when you're a kid to sit there and play through the whole game.
@RogerRoger LOL, not a fan of the music, I take it?
I'm not a big fantasy person either, actually. I find stuff like LOTR and Game of Thrones to be legitimately boring, and I can count the fantasy novels I've actually enjoyed on one hand.
TW3's approach to character development and dialogue make it somewhat more relatable for me, though. The characters talk and act like real people. Also, it helps that it's less medieval and more dark fantasy.
Which, I fear, might be the actual aspect of the game that will never make you want to play it, knowing how sensitive to realistic media violence you are. It's... really, really gruesome. Both in terms of the subject matter (racism, genocide, intense misogyny, serial killings, etc. are all par for the course in this universe) and in terms of what you actually see on-screen (so much suffering and death; also, as a matter of normal fights, Geralt will sometimes lop off limbs or heads, or even, in spectacular fashion, cut his enemies clean in half, like in some ultraviolent 80s anime OAV). To be honest, it all feels a bit edgy at times, but the high quality of the writing makes up for it, I think.
Probably something I should have mentioned in the review.
Judging by the avatar, I'm guessing you're looking forward to that Spider-Man: Miles Morales game on PS5?
Since the PS5 reveal, most PS4 game announcements I feel pretty meh about. TLOU2, Ghosts and Cyberpunk are the exceptions, but everything else just doesn't interest me any more. Does anyone else feel this way?

@JohnnyShoulder Other than the fact I’m always broke during the summer, I probably wasn’t going to buy them anyway, they’ll probably be on PS5 either within the year or upgraded with BC. Just don’t think there’s much point when I have a huge backlog and no money.
