Also got the platinum for this on PS4 but I’ll try and play along now I’ve got the UE version. Playing on base PS4 was ok but it really does need the extra grunt to stop it dropping down to 1-2 fps. Great game though.

@Ralizah I don't recall the frame rate being a huge issue when actually playing the game on PS4, but everytime I when into the menu or map then when back to the game it would take a few seconds to get back into the action. Also happened when loading a save.

@render @nessisonett There’s some decent haptics on the PS5 version as well, if you’re into that kind of thing. I really liked it. Each version of the service weapon feels unique to fire. A couple of them have substantially strong adaptive trigger play that the controller makes so much noise that you are better off wearing headphones 😅. I almost always play on headphones by default and so I didn’t even realize how loud the DualSense was when I was shooting until I happened to play with them off one time. Especially the sniper rifle type of weapon (I forget what it’s called … Surge, maybe?) where you hold down the trigger to power it up before firing — that thing makes the controller buzz like it’s about to explode in your hands. 😅

@Th3solution Well I have no adaptive trigger in my L2 now so unfortunately i’ll miss that 😂

I'll be participating for the first time at some point over the next month as I'm now playing Quantum Break for the Pure Xbox Game Club, but I'm happy to as I want to play the PS5 version (more than the little bit I played it earlier in the year). I also have never played the DLC, so that'll be good to finally play that too.

One thing I will say is I hated the triggers in the game as I thought it just made it harder, which isn't needed in a few of the really intense battles. Otherwise I thought it looked and ran great, and I was fine with the haptic feedback. Maybe a bit overboard since it seemed to do it for every step, but still better than the triggers for me.

@ralphdibny I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on quantum break and whether you could go back after playing control? I've got gamepass and been interested in the mixed media idea

@R1spam we are playing QB over on the Pure Xbox game club so come join us if you like! If not then I'll give you a shout after I've played both games.

Ive played Alan Wake and Alan Wake American Nightmare so far. I decided to not go too far off the beaten track to get collectibles in American Nightmare just because it really slowed the first game down too much. I think I'm going to take the same approach in QB

Couldn't resist and had a quick go last night and wow Control is as good as I remember. Running in performance mode it's so smooth and fluid compared to when I played on base PS4. Also coming off the back of playing Alan Wake you can see how much improved the gameplay / shooting mechanics are for a Remedy game.

@Th3solution Agree - I like the use of the haptics and triggers. So far they seem quite subtle but will see what they are like when I get Surge as I'll be playing mostly on the TV speaker 😆

@ralphdibny that sounds good mate, give me a tag there on pure xbox and even if I don't end up joining in with qb becauseI'm late to it, I'm sure I'll join in with another game.👍it's definitely one of the benefits of subscriptions like gamepass in that everyone subscribed has access to that diverse a library

Ah man, I enjoyed the hell out of Control... I do plan on playing through the PS5 version myself at some point but now is a little soon for me. Enjoy guys.

I also only got the plat for this a couple of months ago but I look forward to hearing what other people think!

And it really does look and run great on PS5.

Better late than never…. I finished off Resident Evil 3 Remake today. What a great game! I liked it almost as much as RE2 Remake. A lot of people complained about the length being too short, but I was fine with it. My playtime was close to 7 hours and I ended with a C ranking, so I was taking my time on this first run. It’s a game I wouldn’t mind replaying on harder difficulty, but I’m going to move on for now. Still enjoyed it immensely and am sad to have it over. Jill and Carlos were great characters and the boss fights with Nemesis were exhilarating! The game was more action-y than RE2, and less puzzles, but I enjoyed the different settings more than I thought I would. I’ll play RE4 after a while. Going to move on to some non-horror for now.

I hope everyone is enjoying Control!

@Th3solution I know it's crazy, but I think I actually ended up liking Resident Evil 3 Remake more than 2. I highly enjoyed 2, but I can't deny that I really enjoyed the more action oriented focus.

I'll move on to Control sooner or later. Still working through Quantum Break, but this would be my 3rd playthrough of Control anyways.

@KilloWertz Yeah, I liked the constant threat of Nemesis and really enjoyed the characters personalities.

Supposedly RE4 is even more action-oriented, and then it just goes full-on third person shooter in RE5 and RE6, I hear. Have you played the others? RE4 is apparently the high point of the series so I’m excited to play it. Not sure if I’ll wait until next Halloween or not. 😅

Edit: I wouldn’t mind a second go at Control either, but it was just a couple months ago when I platinum’d it and I have a ton of other games to experience.

I was going to start Control tonight but I didn't have it downloaded 😭. I finished Quantum Break last night!

I've set it to download but I probably won't get to start it now until Thursday which is a bit of a shame. I went to kick off the DLC too but weirdly it said that it was already installed :S

R1spam

@ralphdibny I'm the other way round, I'm downloading quantum break just now and will probably
play through control before I start it 😂. I've made a decent start on control and it's dripping in style! I'm a few missions in already but don't want to post anything until folks get a chance to start. For those who've played the game before, any suggestions about targets etc? Seems like main missions take about 90ish minutes

@R1spam I think I played roughly a mission a night when I played Control! Granted that was during my Christmas break though so people with more on would probably aim for a main mission every few days, some take longer than others though!
