Hi, new here.
I just read this morning that the PSP batteries are a potential safety and fire hazard.
I have a 3000, that is in a storage unit somewhere, and i need to find it. So I am a little stressed
Have you guys had any issues with your battery? assuming any of you have psps

@ob1-adobe If it hasn’t been charged in over a year it will be completely flat and therefore will not be a problem.

I’ve only ever encountered problems batteries when they are being charged. It won’t spontaneously combust if not in use and not being charged.

As far as I’m aware the battery in a PSP doesn’t pose any greater risk than that in any other device. A negligible but non-0 risk.

In fact all the baterries in my PSP 1000 and 3000 have broken as shown in the pick. I saw it when I tried to play a game and I replaced them. The batteries in my PSPgo and PSP Street are fine but those devices are newer.
