Recently, I downloaded Modern Warfare War Zone. Started to really like it except for one glaring aspect of the game! So, I stopped playing it and removed it from my HD. No Gamer buys a game to spectate! This is a bad gaming mechanic that really has no place in games. When I see this in a game, I avoid it like the plague! My game time is very limited and I do not want to spend a third or more of it spectating! I buy games to play! I do not pay for a game to watch other gamer's play! No one does! If they tell you they do, they are lying! I get so frustrated when I like a game, then find out it puts me out of the game, forcing me to spectate when I am there to play, then uninstall it from my HD! Hint: I liked Apex and War zone but they are no longer on my HD!.. guess why!
All Gamer's, great, good mediocre or below average are there to play the game, to have fun, not spectate. The game design that keeps the gamer playing and having fun is the best game design.
Final thought: The number one goal of all Game developers should be to create games that keep Gamer's in the game, playing and having fun!.. period Anything less or different is.. not Fun! Hint: spectating is less and different.
@Carlg1964 I've done plenty spectating in my time after or between games. Nothing wrong with it.
Unreal Tournament was always great fun to spectate - and several fighting games allow spectating too. It's better than just being kicked back to a lobby menu or something.

no you're right we don't buy a game just to watch it but then again even in this situation, even if you was the first one out you have still played it and sometimes watching everyone else can be fun
and besides you don't have to watch, once you're taken out just quit and enter a new match, no one is forcing you to stick around and watch after all
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
@Carlg1964 Yeah, even in multiplayer games without a spectator mode, I'll sometimes hang back and watch some decent plays unfold. I sometimes take my time respawning in Battlefront II because you can follow a teammate's camera, and I've been lucky enough to get assigned alongside some real pros. Me getting gunned down beside them wouldn't have helped!
So I'm sorry to hear it isn't your thing, but it's a big, wide world out there. You're absolutely right; games for, of and by the gamers... but we gamers are a diverse bunch. Welcome aboard!
"We want different things, Crosshair. That doesn't mean that we have to be enemies."
@Carlg1964 I'm with you. I hate spectating after losing a match or waiting for teammates to help you up.
One of the reasons I don't play online fps which is pvp.

Doesn't this new gamemode have a feature where you are able to re-enter the game upon elimination by beating other eliminated players in 1v1 battles? It seems like if this is your ultimate pet peeve in MP games, this would be the perfect one for you. Not that I am in any way well-versed in the Call of Duty franchise, or any multiplayer game really.
