Topic: If you use Nintendo Life.....

As someone who frequents NL more than any of the sister sites, it is really sad to me the amount of fanboyism over there. I get pissed when Ninty does something stupid, I don't blindly support them. And ever since Corbie and Philip J Reed left, the site just hasn't been the same. It's sad when you have to say goodbye to something you love, but I think I need to be done there.

Corbie and Philip are still there.  Corbs just did a review on Tecmo Bowl for the 3DS and Phil just posted in a thread over there today.  Not quite sure what you mean by them leaving.

I guess I didn't mean leaving, but way less active when they were when I joined.

@RudyDog:  Ah Gotcha.  Well I do know that Corbs does some writing for Nintendo Force Magazine so, other than that I guess they are just busy with life.

The major player who really left is James because of his new job at Nintendo.  There are a few writers who left as well.  Corbs said he was working on games and Phil still posts stuff on the site.

Phil is actually the most active non-mod staff member on the site...

I have my qualms about Nintendo Life, but honestly, every time I come here, it seems like this place has the same problems, except PushSquare has less people in general. These types of console-specific sites are always gonna attract the most fanboys, just pick which fanboys you'd rather be around.

@CanisWolfred:  Yes he is in fact before they made Lz a mod Phil and TBD were the only mods over there.  In fact it even says it in Phil's signature.

I'd love to spend more time here at *Push Square*, because I'm interested in the *PS3's* library, but I always cave in & get an eShop game for my *3DS* before I can save up enough money for a *PS3* game, lol. (well, that and we don't have a HDMI cable for the *PS3*, and I feel like it'd be a disservice to not play the games in glorious HD)

As for *NL*? Yeah, I love it, but I admit that it's become a lot more vile there, than when I first joined (and most of the users who were able to counteract the fanboyism have left over the past few months). It's why I mainly stick to the *General Discussion* forum over there (I'm just tired of all the negative game talk).

@RR529 I hate the fact that most of the old people left NL in a time when new people have started flooding in. Also, it's hard not to notice that some of the people who have been their longer are trying to take control of things. Trolls fill the chat room and forums. I like NL, but i feel like it's starting to fall apart.

The main problem that I see with NL is the same with site as long as NL thats all.  The more popular the site the more trolls and rif-raf you attract thats all.  Still the mod team is one of the best I have ever seen on a site that large.

I think thats because what has already been said has been said.  Not really sure why you bumped this thread without adding anything of importance.

Man, I remember the days when I was just a lurker and everybody seemed fairly friendly. After I joined, I was a regular on the forums and in the comments, but when Nintendolife got more popular I just stopped commenting in general and became a lurker again. Stupid trolls. When LordJumpMad stopped being a regular 'troll', other trolls stepped in and replaced him, but were far more irritating.

I hate to bring this up but this is just something I noticed on NL today and I am not sure if its me or if others have seen this.

Now today It was revealed that the new Arkham game isn't coming to the Wii U and some of the users there quite upset (which I can't blame them) but then I tried to explain it in a level headed fashion, saying that the reason they probably aren't putting it on the Wii U is a business decision, that it probably would cost more money to make a Wii U version due to the gamepad and VS how many Wii U's have been sold they can't justify making a Wii U version.  Well one user over there answer was well I like the Gamepad.  I was like ok?  What does that have to do with them bringing Arkham Knight to the Wii U well seeing as this user wasn't going to get it I quit before getting upset and turning it into a flamewar.

My point is has anyone else noticed that that alot of users overthere think that because they like it Nintendo can't do any wrong and that is there answer for everything?  Even after explaining it in a business like sense they still come at you as oh well I like it.  Pardon my language but WTF is that about?  It's not about what you like it's about what sells and makes the company money.

They won't admit it but I think this one hurts. Batman games have a  history on Nintendo consoles  and Wii U got the best version of Arkham City (at least from what I've heard, haven't played the Armored Edition so can't say one way or the other). I do think for a lot users there, Nintendo can do no wrong, but I also think others are getting extremely annoyed with third parties dropping the system left and right and it's getting to them. In many cases it's because Nintendo gamers don't buy third party games but I also feel like in many of those cases they are justified. For example, Batman Origins on Wii U was a pretty big mess and it's not even getting the DLC. Splinter Cell Blacklist was missing features. I can get the frustration. Nintendo isn't totally blameless though as the hardware, at least imo, isn't up to par and sometimes the company tries so hard to be different to its detriment.
