Not my favorite but I thought using Dead Or Alive's You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) during that one chapter in Lollipop Chainsaw where the protagonist was mowing down zombies with a farming machine was pretty funny.
Rollcage 2.Gnarly Drum & Bass from the now sadly defunct Moving Shadow..One of the greatest D&B labels of all time,Featuring Technical Itch,Dom & Roland and E-Z Rollers.Used to mash it up on vinyl..Also,there is some P.C game i havent played but i have the OST - The Old City:Leviathan by Atrium Carceri which is outsanding,i have his whole Discography and also he runs Dark Ambient Label Cryo Chamber which i own most releases of.Very, very Recommended..Seriously.. https://cryochamber.bandcamp.com
JRPGS win this category hands down for me. So many memorable tunes. Final Fantasy alone provided with so much quality music it's almost ridiculous.
And XV seems like it will continue the tradition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giI1sYmGOBk
Non JRPG all time favourites: 16 bit Sonic, Super Metroid's OST and Street Fighter 2 classic themes (by Yoko Shimomura, same gal who worked on XV) anJet Set Radio / JSR Future.
Don't think anyone has mentioned Crypt of the Necrodancer, a game about moving to the soundtrack so it is lucky it is such a good soundtrack. FFVII's soundtrack also did a great job of conveying the mood and oppression of the setting and ranks in my favourites.
Beyond that I always remember the music from the old SID chip in the C64, some great tracks from the likes of Hubbard, Whittaker et al with the likes of Delta, Sanxion, Wizball, Monty on the Run and loads of others. It may just be me getting old, but I don't remember a single soundtrack from big release since it became standard to move away from 'chip tunes'. Not saying they're bad, just they don't make me pay attention in the way they used to - they seem more there to emphasise what is going on in the game than add to it.
@KratosMD: I remember being blown away by the MGS2 song, listening to it again and again. It was one of the first examples of a big movie music man making the leap to video games, absolutely massive for it's time!
@WanderingBullet: Same here. It almost sounds like a wedding or dance song. I want someone on youtube to put it on top of the ballroom dance scene from FF8! Gonna pick up 15 next week and this song just gets me impatient to play it!
@BowTiesAreCool: Honestly I don't see the reason that there needs to be a PS4 game music thread when we have this one. PS4 is a video game system is it not?
The problem is if there's a PS4 thread then someone will want a PS3, or and arcade game music thread and before you know it there is a bunch of game music threads splintered across the boards which in the end makes the forum section cluttered. Sadly we don't have the ability to merge threads. I hope that explains it.
Thanks for understanding

There doesn't NEED to be any topic at all, but it's something I wanted to discuss/see what other people's faves were on the PS4 and the commuity was starting to engage before it was locked without polite discussion. In the PS4 forum. As there was no topic existing on it for the PS4. BUT I didn't realise the site only has room for x amount of topics (computer coding is almost alien to me unfortunately) or that wanting more discussions was a "problem". Have a good weekend mate!
Saw this thread and the first thing that came to mind was the music for Resistance: Fall of Man. That was a cracking game I only bought several months after it was released. I completed it around three times. Insomniac are totally insane in not releasing a similarly gritty game for the PS4.
I will say the music in Journey is terrific, it really sets the mode and fits the game nicely. At times I found myself just stopping and standing still listening and enjoying the music.

Not really gaming music but one of my favorite Youtubers spartacus ( C &C kanes wrath broadcaster) always plays this music. It totally fits the C&C universe for me
