Working my way through the thieves guild and I've messed up on the last mission, I didn't pick up the scroll I needed and I can't get back into the place where it is.
@Th3solution Hey, buddy! .Hope you are well. I'm just curious as to what game you'll be playing next, after rolling the credits on BG3, at last? I am still ploughing through the ELDEN RING DLC, hunting down the materials needed for the unique levelling system within the DLC....

@KidRyan I got the platinum for Cult of the Lamb a long time ago but it sounds like some changes with DLC have made it much harder.
Beating the bosses without being hit wasn't easy but using the weapon that had increasing damage until you got hit was essential. Just really annoying to lose your multiplier just before the boss.
I'm over 30 hours into Lost Judgment and having a blast, especially with the school stories. What's killing my vibe though is the Robotics Club mini-game. I've reached a difficulty spike and have trouble getting past one level. Has anyone played the game and knows how to get past the tougher levels later on? The CPU is just way too brutal. I tried lowering the difficulty of the base game but that doesn't seem to affect the mini-games.
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN Doing well! I’ve had a busy week, but now have finally had a chance to move on to the next chapter in my gaming life, starting with finishing The Invincible. It’s a small story-based game, light on gameplay, based on the book by the same name, written by Stanislaw Lem, published in 1964. I’ve not read the book but I am enjoying the story as told through the game. I actually started it several weeks ago and was playing it occasionally as a break from BG3, but I haven’t finished it. The game is not long although I’m not sure I can finish it off this weekend. We’ll see.
Then I went ahead and started up Horizon Forbidden West. I’ve only played a couple hours of it but I really like it so far. It feels very familiar, since I played and enjoyed the first game several years ago, and also because it seems to be a fairly standard open world action combat game like the dozens of its kind I’ve played before. It also feels really quick and twitchy, which is a fresh contrast after coming off of a slower turn-based rpg.
How is going with your hunt for the materials you need for leveling up? Don’t prefer that type of system or the usual soul farming to level up?
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@Th3solution I see. Well I'm glad your games are going well, "standard open world action combat game" sounds really good to me, a bit like ELDEN RING, although that only shares the "open world action combat game" part of that statement, as, as I'm sure you'll appreciate when you get round to it, it's far from "standard", haha!. It does sound like it could be refreshing after BG3, plus you've got the palette cleanser from that game, in the shape of The Invincible, to alternate with.
The hunt is going well, the items seem to be placed fairly close together within the world of the DLC, within it's specific areas, I mean. You can get to quite a reasonable level, using a guide, without fighting any bosses, and that's definitely the method I've chosen to use. I prefer this levelling system as the boosts are a lot more effective ,within the DLC world, than soul farming and levelling up that way could ever be, in there. So it feels like micromanagement/admin stuff that you have to do before the fun part starts, and it feels like you have to do that first in order to make the actual "fun" more enjoyable, bc you'll be overpowered by then. Really looking forward to the early boss fights once I'm more powerful and then levelling up further once defeating specific bosses unlocks pathways to further upgrade items, plan on getting all the upgrade materials available before the legendary final boss of the DLC.

@LtSarge I've had Lost Judgment sat on my hard drive for a couple of years now but have always had something else to play but I've only ever heard good things about it so am glad you're adding to that!
CyricZ is the oracle to all things Yakuza related so I don't know if their guide has any tips you hadn't already considered (if you haven't already seen it);
That red guy's face sums up the grind so far. I'm about to hit level forty nine and I'm close to the end of the game. It would behoove me to play the DLC with NG+ for platinum to be realistic, so I might. It's looking like my first Yakuza game was the longest and meatiest.
These violent delights have violent ends & in their triumph die, like fire & powder Which, as they kiss, consume.
@Thrillho Yeah, the game has been great so far! The side content is probably the best I've experienced in a Yakuza game. The school stories are brilliant as they integrate mini-games into tons of story and the school setting makes me yearn for another Persona game, lol.
I've looked through your linked guide, but I just can't be bothered spending so much time with this mini-game. All the other school stories are straightforward but the Robotics Club is just cumbersome and it's stressing me out. I'm simply not enjoying it. I'll just finish the other school stories as they are fun and then look up the ending for the school stories.
I finally booted up my PlayStation for the first time since September of last year. I’m playing NiOH 3. It’s great so far, although the first boss is a huge skill check. It’s shockingly difficult (or I’m just bad at the game), and I hope it’s not an indicator for the rest of the game. I know these games are notoriously difficult — I have platinums in almost all of From Soft games, but we will see.
@Werehog If you ever read the Egyptian Book of The Dead, that's basically Death Stranding and most definitely where Kojima pulled a lot of the lore from.
I have a copy on my shelf. Of the book, not the game!
...I love hard survival games but the focus on animals made it cut that deeper.
Yep, I'm definitely somebody who'll check games that have a focus on innocent animals beforehand, to ensure they don't die or suffer because if they do, I won't play. I've been caught out by too many games before, and while I do make exceptions (and combat against aggressive wild animals a whole other matter, with its own set of rules) I will generally switch off anything that forces my hand.
I lost everything in Stranded Deep multiple times and still kept coming back to it.
The sign of a great game! I appreciated your story and screenshots, thank you! I gotta admit, I'm perhaps less sold on The Long Dark, but I'll be adding Stranded Deep to my PSN wish list, for sure!

@Th3solution Bro, seeing that you're playing Horizon Forbidden West (and that it's made a good first impression on you) is such fantastic news! Really hope you'll continue to enjoy it and please, whenever convenient, share your ongoing thoughts with us!

@Werehog For sure! I finished off the little indie that I was playing and can devote more time to Aloy & Co. Unfortunately the Winter Olympics are a thing and I’m being sucked into the black hole of watching uber-athletes play on the ice and snow. And the blasted Super Bowl took several hours of my time yesterday too. All these distractions over the weekend ate into my gaming time, so I might not get out of the opening mission for a while. But yes, I love to talk about the games I play, especially when I enjoy them so I’ll definitely be reporting when I have more to say. So far playing Forbidden West is a bit like putting on a nice soft worn sweatshirt. It feels comfy and inviting. But my skills are definitely rusty, because those first machines you fight in the tutorial are actually kinda hard! 😅 I didn’t die but I was having to burn through health items already. My reaction time has become lax with the turn-based game I’ve spent the last nine months with. I’m playing on normal, so we’ll have to see if I can recapture my former competence.
@KidRyan I got the platinum for Cult of the Lamb a long time ago but it sounds like some changes with DLC have made it much harder.

Yeah if it weren't for the latest Woolhaven DLC, I'd have the platinum by now. Until consoles get a patch, only way to plat is to buy Woolhaven and 100% it.
I sadly don't have the money for it right now, and I'm also going to lose access to Cult of the Lamb when it leaves PS+ Extra on February 17th.
So I'm hoping and praying to the gaming gods that the CotL devs release a patch, before the game leaves on the 17th.
@Metonymy Hey man! How is Nioh 3 going for you thus far? I heard it's more forgiving than the previous games, how do you find that aspect of it, if it's true?
"Even in the face of death, the samurai stands unwavering, for honour is a blade sharper than steel".
I am playing Onimusha: Warlords and I don't know how it was in 2001 but it's pretty average and basic so far. Played 4 hours. My only reason for the experience was to get a bit familiar with the series before the new one.
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN It’s been great thus far. The open ended structure works extremely well and in that regard, I think it is a more forgiving experience overall, at least in the early game. The first boss, which you have to face before things really open up, is challenging, but after that you’re given so many tools to overcome any obstacle. The hardest part of the Nioh games is just learning the systems and menus. I find them quite manageable once the learning curve is overcome, doubly so for Nioh 3. Oh, and happy national guitar day!

@Th3solution At least you know distractions like the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics are finite, and that Aloy's not going anywhere. I'm sure you'll soon get your eye in, if you haven't already!
I did really appreciate how the game doesn't devolve Aloy, granting you more or less her entire Zero Dawn skillset from the get-go. While you'll find plenty new to learn out there, that opening area is purposefully designed to let you get comfy in your old sweatshirt, so don't feel bad about being rusty.

I have fully explored and obtained all the scadutree fragments available in the opening area of Shadow of the Erdtree, and have now moved on to the next main area that you can access earlier in the game, in order to acquire more of the aforementioned early-access scadutree fragments. Currently at Shadow Realm Blessing Level 6, planning to get it up to 10 before backtracking for revered spirit ashes, to beef up my Mimic, and then moving onto the next area after the one I am currently in, to get more scadutree fragments and upgrade my character further.
